There is no bad Stag !! Some is just better than others . You are also correct in the beautiful photos today , and the Stag has been very good today too .

This is why I don't like brass liners with Stag or light bone. There's always the verdigris risk-brass bleed.

This example is the 2008 Forum Knife made by Northwoods. Why it's bled so badly I can't say, maybe the thin panel Stag? Or badly cured or prepared material? But I've got other brass shod Stag/light bone knives from GEC and CASE that also show signs of greening. This particular knife has not been much used, kept out of sunlight but it now has a very vivid green stain throughout the scales on both sides.

My verdict? Give me stainless or all steel liners for Stag, no question.
