It's nice to see this thread again as stag is my favorite. Nice stuff! Here's a few more:

Note how the stag is dovetailed. Filework done with a file by hand.

Here are 2 I received yesterday. After all the fine pics of the new #73 in stag, I decided I needed one too. I also found a GEC #48 trapper that I believe is a SFO. Burnt stag, fish shield, and "Good Old Days Cutlery" etched on the knife. It came in a regular Northfield tube though.

Jake that Kawamura Sowbelly is just stunning, honestly...what a stunner..that Stag is just poppin', and Garys' L/C...Whew... this place is so great, here is my latest big of very old Stag, but in my eyes the older Stag gets, the more it just seems to glow...Heres a neat old Rope knife, a Century old +

Thank you, Duncan. The stag handles on that rope knife do have a glow to them. I think that it has atleast another 100 years worth of blade left too!

Jeff, that Lisch has some distracting stag, very mellow look. Is it taken from an old carving set by any chance?

Noddy, I hope you still have that GEC Moose with the slant bolsters and the 48 single blade? Really fine looking antlers on them!

I got the skinner from Dave at BLADE this summer, and he didn't mention anything special about the stag or where it came from.
It does have a nice warm coloration, and a nice worn look to it, though.

I admit that I never preferred stag over other handle materials.
I guess it's because of my "knife roots"; I tend to favor "smoother" surfaced handles (such as smooth bone, wood, etc) over stag or jigged bone.
But some of you guys really do seem to have serious arguments to make me change my mind about the whole thing... :) I have seen awesome things on this thread, so thank you for sharing.
