Stainless GEC models, primarily the Viper

Nice series of SSs, 3-1-1!!!
Great collection!!!

This 15 stainless was gifted to me last year. I'm embarrassed to admit but at the time it was one that I would not have considered myself. Admittedly, being a traditional knife noob, I didn't know what I didn't know... which was that this is a phenomenal, beautiful, extremely, functional amazing knife! I wish GEC would make more of them, bring on the spear in the 15 pattern as well. They are fantastic! Oh and I'm still a tradition knife noob!IMG_2202.jpg

Love the walk and talk on the stainless knives!

I'm not normally one to pay secondary market prices, even for older models. Almost all of the knives I've posted in here, plus the several others I am lucky enough to own, have been acquired in or close to the year of release. But I splurged today on 3 older 440c models that I didn't think were too badly marked up. My paranoia started when they first put out some GEC branded knives in 1095. At first it was just some fixed blades, but then there were those 48s. It was like they were priming us for something. It was like the company was subtly saying, "hey, we don't have to keep using 440c in order to keep running all 3 brand names." And now the whole "CKC" stamp has me freaked out. Its like an even more direct statement of the same. So now I've become a 440c "prepper," stocking up for the stainless apocalypse! Any one else scouring the web and hoarding the acorn shields?

Anyway, its looking like a certainty that 2017 will be the first year (that I know of) where GEC had 0 stainless runs. I'm just hoping its not the year of extinction.

Its caused me some paranoia that the stainless may just go away altogether. Its like I'm a 440c "prepper," stocking up for the stainless apocalypse! Now you are scaring me ! I too like GEC's SS. I like the 1095 also, but I like to have some of my knives with lower maintenance. The other reason is cover selection and the acorn shield / etch.
I think that if the knife gods at GEC make a decision like that, they will inform the public.

We should have this conversation in another thread...... So I will post a picture...
