Stallone Holding Pohl Force Folder

No, 100% incorrect. Please don’t try to lecture me about a particular law in my own country, one with which I am familiar in excruciating detail.

Last w/e I took a house in the country; was out in the woods with the kids: making fire on a hobo stove. I’d say the full size Benchmade Crooked River I was using is every bit as formidable as this Pohl Force knife. Totally legal.

If you had said “Illegal to EDC” it would be fine. You aren’t the first person here to give out innacurate and misleading information on UK law, and every time it happens I correct it. It is better not to give out misinformation on BF.

Fingers crossed the Brexit won't make things worse for you guys  already restrictive enough as it is.

I guess it's fitting that Stallone loves a nice big knife. He's on record as being one of the biggest anti gun Hollywood celebrities and an enemy of the N.R.A., along with Liam Neeson.
And a random move into politics in GKD from a BFC vet who has been here far, far long enough to know better! A bold move, Cotton, let's see how it works out for him.

Wow! Why on Earth would Stallone and Neeson be anti-gun? It's almost incomprehensible! Everyone knows that no innocent people are ever shot in the US !
By the way that folder looks great. I've got the Pohl Force tanto Alpha 3 folder which looks like it's about the same size.

No lecture..... carry usually means edc carry to most. So, don't lecture me!! Didn't know there was a woods exclusion.

Again, you didn’t mention ‘carry’ just that it would be ‘illegal’. I read your post, you see. And there is no ‘woods exlusion’. This is not the place to discuss UK legislation, whether one has the right facts or whether one is just making up rubbish. Back to the septuagenarian Stallone and his German folder. It looks good to me.

Here in the US it is commonly accepted that you can carry a larger blade (usually referring to a fixed blade) in the woods such as hunting or hiking even if the state has a blade length limit. But if you get in trouble with law enforcement, they will probably ping you for the blade length. That is anywhere (general wood land) pretty much, not just on your own property which is where I suspect you were building your little fire. Of course, you didn't say that it was your "own" property, only 100% legal or words to that effect.

Anyway, I don't really care one way or the other quite frankly and I'm glad you're fully aware of UK law. I wish I knew all the little laws here in the states regarding knives or weapons in general. I could be legal in my state and illegal in an adjoining state that might be less than 20 miles away. This can happen if you live near the state boundary lines especially.

Anyway, it wasn't a bad article. Stalone is sure looking old.

There is an app for that! Knife Rights has a fairly well put together application on laws in all 50 states and it's FREE.

I have it on my Android phone and it was in the Play Store. I'm sure it's out for Apple too, but I have no info on it.

Great pics!
Love the Pohl force models.

Reasonable excuse of carry, so a workman can have a locking folder or fixed blade. So when I go fishing I can have a 7 inch fillet knife, so bushcrafters can have a parang. All done legally....

As long as the Mayor of London doesn't catch him I think he'll be OK.
The picture was taken in Spain and you do realise the UK has a film industry? That streets are sealed off so James Bond can run around with an automatic weapon.

So it's just defending yourself that's illegal?

No, Chris, not at all. But this isn’t the place.
I guess there's a misconception about the freedoms people in the U.K have. I was under the impression nothing could be carried without a proof of official use and that carrying items for self defense wasn't allowed. Maybe someone should start a thread in the correct forum so we Americans can better understand.

That's right mate, I have a letter from the boss of MI6 saying I've got a "licence to thrill" when I carry a fixed blade.

I believe many Uk bladeforum members have tried over the years to explain the bladed article law.

Didn't realize you could carry a fixed blade everywhere Americans can, huh, sorry for ignorance!

We have our cities and exceptions too. Generally speaking we can carry guns and knives most places with no purpose.

You are correct in that people cannot carry weapons for self defence. On the other hand, people can and do defend themselves from attack here, daily, using ‘whatever is to hand’. There are legal pitfalls to carrying knives, not just here but in many countries, and the very last thing I would do is pull out a knife, even though it be carried legitimately. Too slow, for one thing, and just a legal nightmare. But yes, another thread in another place.

This one’s about Sly and his Pohl Force folder! :D
