I'm sorry for posting a new topic when there are so many like this already. But all of your advice is what led me to buy my last knife from another user here on this forum. I purchased a Wilson Combat Star Tac a while ago and I loved it. It was my EDC for a very long time And due to some extreme misfortune it has gone missing. I'm not made of money but I do have enough to buy another high end folder.

The only reason why I havent bought another Star Tac is I wanted to hear some other possible suggestions. I liked the look of the Grayman Satu but have never held or seen one in person Ray Laconico also seems like a good knife maker and I've followed him here and there since he started but have never held or used one of his knives. They are also more expensive than even a Chris Reeve or a Wilson combat. I was quoted $650 for an EZC.

I'm definitely a fan of the larger folders for "rugged" every day use if you will. Any advice or options I have not listed are always greatly welcome and much appreciated. Or your personal experiences with any of the knives I listed.

Thank you all again for your help and input! :)

Three Sisters Forge Gorgon, big brother of the Beast. I have a Beast and it is great. It's been spend more time in my pocket lately than when I first got it. I believe the Gorgon starts at $400.

TSF has already been mentioned, and I'd throw in Les George's work. He has a couple of larger folders called the FM-1 and the Rockeye. IIRC, WC has a version of one of them on their web site.

Thank you DaleFuller! I'll check them out now. I love these recommendations thanks guys. Theres always more for me to learn amd see its great.

I feel like if a Sebbie were a flipper it would be a Southard Avo

I was not a fan of the SR1 personally. Very slippery handle, odd blade shape.

Ah mixed reviews on the SR1 weight is no issue to me personally. Glad for the input always. I'm even looking into a Grayman Satu as my EDC but i haven't heard much on reviews though I've done a little reading.

Also thank you cchu518 for the info on southard knives. Imhad never heard of them and like their products!

I would recommend the Chaves American Made, Megalodon.
or even the Redencion 328 If you are ok with it's size and how the clip looks.
Another to consider would be Spartan Blades' Harsey SHF.

Also +1 for either the Avo or Tolk from Southard Knives

Hey Helix, just note that price or novelty doesn't equal a great EDC. And the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

The Satu is a 10 ounce hunk of metal you would be lugging around for example.

What's been mentioned like the TSF are not going to be as slicey and useful as an EDC the way your CRK is. It's why I picked the Southard or Tollk which is different, but close enough to a CRK in terms of being a solid all around EDC. But I'm also very anti-thick bladed knives too.

The Spartan Harsey folder seems a lot like my Star Tac or The Umnum. I seem to be drawn to that style of knife it seems. The southard and told both seem very very nice as well. Any difference in the steels? I see the Harsey is also S35VN like my Star Tac. The megaladon certainly looks like it lives up to its name.

The closest in comparison to my Startac would be my Les George VECP 2. They are similar in weight, size and thickness... and the blade and handle profile is very similar. I've seen plenty of them going for around $300 on the exchange. Also, it is extremely smooth and because of the blade weight, it thumb flicks nicely without any wrist action.

Hey brother, so sorry for your loss! This particular Startac was my second CRK... If you don't get another Startac, I think you'll be pleasantly
surprised by the VECP, that and Les George is a very nice guy who makes a great product.

I loved that knife. I didn't have the tanto version like yours though. The Les Georges are nice though I'm used to the longer 4 inch blade though its not much longer.

Quick question you or someone else might know, is there any major differences between the Star Tac and Umnumzaan besides the WC logo and the pattern on the titanium?

I'd seriously consider a Freeman 451 Flipper in titanium. I haven't handled the titanium variant, but the standard was an absolute joy.

Nope, they are identical... Same steel, same thickness, same RC hardness specs, just the pattern.
