I did not know you could get that shipped to canada, what did the shipping cost? Tried to send you an email but somehow the bladeforums email wouldnt let it go through.
I do ship internationally. The shipping for Canada $98.85 (3 X $32.95). I have found it more economical to ship three separate boxes via the flat rate boxes rather than one large one in these cases.
Well my Ryobi 10" drill press table won't lower enough to drill the upright, so I'm stuck at square one . My other drill press is being repaired and I won't see it for a month at least. I have a gas less flux core MIG type welder and some welders magnets but I'm not good at welding and can see it being difficult to keep square . There is a lot of side movement with the upright in the base hole.
If you're careful, you can drill the holes for the upright with a hand drill. I've done it that way free hand, and I made a guide once to help keep it straight. If you weld it, alternate sides and stitch weld it instead of doing one entire side at once.
A Side note. If Jamie is reading this thread. If you drill 4 holes for pillow blocks in the base it will make the GIB a good option for those who want to use pulleys. Also if you cut down the multiplaten like the one on my grinder it will handle wheels down to 1.5" and 3.5" like the Caffery set up.
One thing I am considering adding is a slim multi platen support. Most of my information gathering when I started this had more people who wanted larger wheels, so I drew it up at 4". I will probably make the slim version accept a 3" wheel.
I probably won't add holes for pillow blocks. There are too many different sizes and configurations. If I add too many extra holes, the run time builds and I would have to add to the price.
