Starting a new forum

Hello, I would love to start a Christianity forum and I would be willing to moderate it.
I recently posted a thread in the Cantina about Jesus and there was a lot of interest from Christians, but also a lot of people just there to post negatively. I think that a forum that would allow Christians to talk about their faith, debate and where others can ask honest questions about Christianity and how it relates to other religions and the human experience would be well served here:) I'd appreciate you letting me know if this would be possible. Thanks much!
 
The thread was a disaster. It fostered more bitterness than anything else, misunderstanding and trolling ran riot. I can't see how a whole forum would be any better. Religion is one of the most divisive topics even in the Political Arena, which at least has dispassionate moderators willing to oversee it.
 
Personally, I feel there are MUCH better venues than bladeforums for the sharing and discussion of personal (religious) beliefs and hope (without any prejudice) that we don't go down that road for exactly the types of reasons and issues that Esav alluded to.

Negative Ghostrider. There are already plenty of online forums dedicated to that and to varying degrees. Why reinvent the wheel?
 
I'm all for it if we can have 1234 moderate it.
 
I believe that there is a Christian forum on another knife based forum. I'm sure that they would welcome you there.

If a Christian forum were to be started here, wouldn't it be fair to also have, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. forums.
Let's not forget the Hari Krishnas. OY!:rolleyes:
 
NO KIDDING, THIS IS A KNIFE FORUM FFS. Religion and politics in an online forum are a WASTE, period.

You want to talk about you religion? GO TO CHURCH.
 
Hey folks, I think we can express our thoughts and opinions (pro or con) without being confrontational or condescending. We can agree to disagree while still respecting the other's point of view.
 
If there ends up being a Christian forum, then I definitely want a Festivus forum as well. :D

Honestly I don't think there should be separate forum for religion here. There are plenty of other forums passionate about religion as we are about knives.
 
Oh, I had already visited that site, Jason, but didn't want to ding myself for deal spotting...you on the other hand...well...;)
(Let's just say I'm in a giving mood in the spirit of the thread, now go and sin no more. :D)
 
i agree with sloth357. this is a knife forum where people talk about knives and other sharp objects.
 
Only if we can have a Norse religion forum too...it would have more to do with knives at least.
 
Well it seems that y'all just want to eradicate Christianity. Yes this is a knife forum, but there are other general interest forums here such as cooking and politics. Anyway, I just don't really see why it would bother you all so much. Just don't participate! Seriously, what's the big deal? You might have to see the word Christian when you go to the community forums page. Wow, I thought we prided ourselves on freedom and diversity in thus country.

To Esav: That thread contained alot of good discussion. Maybe you didn't personally agree with it. Well, nobody forced you to read it. There was quite a bit of garbage from people just looking to cause trouble. That is why a moderated Christianity forum would be benificial. There are thousands of Christians on this forum (I know many of Christian knifemakers). I think that there was enough interest in the thread I started to warrant it. You could start a Jewish forum too. Then we wouldn't have to read what each other says (just like the real world).
