How in heaven's name are we going to eradicate Christianity? By denying you a dedicated forum? If you get the forum, do we have to exclude non-Christians? We don't even shut down threads on Christianity, unless they pop up in the wrong place. We have been hosting them in the Political Arena. Allowing a thread in the Cantina was a disaster.

I don't need a Jewish forum here. The internet has plenty of Jewish discussion areas that I subscribe to. Food forums address an area people use knives around. The photography forum addresses a tool we use in all our knife forums. Politics at least discusses our rights, like the Knife Laws forum, and it allows us to quarantine discussions (like religion) that effectively encourage dissension among the membership.

To Esav: That thread contained alot of good discussion. Maybe you didn't personally agree with it. Well, nobody forced you to read it. There was quite a bit of garbage from people just looking to cause trouble. That is why a moderated Christianity forum would be benificial. There are thousands of Christians on this forum (I know many of Christian knifemakers). I think that there was enough interest in the thread I started to warrant it. You could start a Jewish forum too. Then we wouldn't have to read what each other says (just like the real world).

Drat, foiled again. :eek: It's the mentality that makes you even suggest such a thing that makes it a bad idea. One thread and all of a sudden a dedicated forum is on everyones mind? Really? That is reaching quite a bit by any standards. Now, if we were to talk about knives used in the Bible, Quran, Tanakh, & Torah then I would be alright. It's when one group starts trying to impose their beliefs on another group that problems begin. Let's just take a deep breath and see if we can muster up some common sense and logic here. Do it for the kittens ;)

Seriously, the LAST thing I want to see here is a dedicated "Christianity forum" with an evangelical bent from a neophyte believer. I come here to discuss knives and knife culture, and that's it. Having a religion forum for any one religious persuasion is a awful idea and only serves to insult the rest of us who don't subscribe to your particular brand of myth. Ok, I'm done.
 
If you ever have a Judaism forum would/could you please prohibit photos of circumcisions?
 
Well a Christian forum would effectively be a "quarantine" for Christianity. That way Christian discussion would be confined to the forum instead of spilling over into many different forums as happens now. It makes no sense at all to be upset about a forum on a subject you don't like. In fact it just shows your disdain for that subject. I don't care if you you want to put an atheist forum right next to the christian forum. Just give us a little space to talk in peace, away from all you troublemakers. It would effectively quarantine us. Isn't that what you want?

The bolded portions above are beyond sufficient reason why I hope we never see any manner of religious based forum on this site. Those remarks are not only rude (and inaccurate), but pathetic and sad beyond words. :thumbdn:

Like Esav said, surely there are plenty of discussion forums on the 'Net devoted to Christianity. (ETA: Oops, he didn't say that, but there are plenty out there) If you need space, what's wrong with them? Plenty of "space" away from "us troublemakers" who would rather not see this here. The Political Arena is already bad enough...
 
Which steel is best for performing a bris? Would RC58 be adequate? What type of grind would be best? Scandi, flat, convex?

What I don't get is just how in the heck BFC made it all these years without a Christianity-specific (or any other religion-specific, for that matter) forum. :rolleyes:
