That's some mitt you got there Rob. I love the look of sanded, plain Sebenza's. Got one myself thanks to you :)

I would say that since no one cares where you work you might as well get the bigger Sebenza.Especially since you are used to the Endura,a great affordable EDC.

My first Sebenza was a large and I loved it so much that I bought a small one with bocote inlays. Guess what? I'm selling the small because I never carry it. It can do everything that the large can do except, IMO it feels too small in the hand. I prefer the size of the large.

If you are used to carrying a Endura I'd suggest getting the large since it's already smaller than the Endura. IMO you wouldn't be as happy with the small.

Just to keep it in perspective for you, the large blade is only a 1/2" longer than the small.
It's really the beefier handle that people tend to be interested in.
Either way, you'll have great cutting, as the blades are very similar regardless.

I got the Small Regular first, thinking the large was TOO large. I was wrong, the Large carries light and thin, doesn't feel bulky in hand. The Large is better for me. The Small is a little hard to operate and I don't have large hands. Small is a great "Sunday" carry:D.

Good Luck:thumbup:

Is that just regular wear, or have you sanded your slabs?

That is sanded, but I'm not sure if 440 used 600 grit paper or Scotchbrite. Here are pics of my Lg Classic with 600 then 1200 grit sanded slabs.

That's my "poor mans' refurbish.."
I just brushed the flats and clips lightly with 800 grit.
Maybe took 5 minutes each. Scothbrite works well also.
Holding up great and they don't seem to scuff up at all anymore.

I noticed that you live in Illinois. You might want to consider that the blade length limit for folding knives in Illinois is 3 inches (2.5 in Chicago). I travel through Illinois on a regular basis and typically carry my small Sebenza. I own two large Sebenzas (a regular and a Classic with micarta inlay) and one small. I wear extra large gloves and find both sizes to be comfortable in my hand, though the large Sebenza is certainly more comfortable. If you can afford the micarta or wood inlay, it will help fill out the grip a bit on the smaller knife.

I have a vid on YouTube about this very thread :)

search "large vs small sebenza"

I live in Illinois and I always carry my lg Sebenza or my Sng. I've never been questioned by LEO's and as long as you don't stab somebody with it, I doubt you'd have a problem. Chicago is a different story though, although I'd still carry a larger knife anyway.
