I am actually in the same position as you are and looking to get either the small or large. Reading the thread im leaning towards the large.

I noticed that you live in Illinois. You might want to consider that the blade length limit for folding knives in Illinois is 3 inches (2.5 in Chicago).

Only chicago has a blade restriction, the rest of IL has no blade length limits. This is often a misinterpreted law. More info in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697571

If you asked me two months ago I would have recommended a small but once I started carrying the large I cannot go back to the small.

I work in a corporate office and don't have a problem with carrying the large as an edc
