The serpentine jack, and the dog leg jack are some of my favorite patterns, especially the slim serpentine. I know that there are many variations of these patterns, and I would love to see what you guys have. Here is my collection of GEC slim serpentines:

I actually just ordered a Northfield Cocobolo 48 w/ my wife's birthdate an hour ago. The Northfield 48 in Autumn Jig Bone is next on my short list.

The only dogleg I have right now is a GEC #48 Diamond Jack, single blade in antique yellow bone. Next on my list is the antique yellow 2-blade...:o

Fanatic knives in this thread!! The DE doglegs initially caught my eye because they have a saber grind, not something you see from GEC too often. . .that, the peachseed jigging, the Diamond-Edge styling, and the blade etch make it unique in my mind. Maybe a two blade will have to be my next purchase. :D

Those GEC slim doglegs are actually a trapper pattern, the curve is reversed from a true dogleg. Here are a few of mine:

Here's my one and only. Case/Tony Bose Collaboration Dogleg Jack.

I agree with lambertiana, that the GEC #48s shown by the OP are in fact serpentine trappers/jacks. GEC's dogleg pattern is the #56.

But since the OP showed his #48s, it must be OK! I've got a couple of standard #48s in smooth ram's horn and elk stag.

Plus, I have a natural stag improved Wharncliffe #48 trapper.

And finally, here is a 3rd generation Bulldog trapper in mother of pearl. I really like the long, rounded bolster.

My only two. The second picture is my 57 half whitt which is on the same frame as the 56 dogleg but is it still considered a dogleg??

I think I might understand the difference between a dogleg and a trapper now?
Is a dogleg always a jack? Is GEC's #57 Gepetto a 'dogleg whittler'?

Is this a dogleg ?

My brain hurts and I need more coffee, but I'm enjoying all the pictures :)
