Kris - very impressive example! Love everything about that one. If you don't mind me asking, what's the closed length? Thanks in advance.

I believe knives like the GEC #56 and Case/Bose Dogleg trapper are true doglegs. The GEC #48 I've heard referred to as a reverse dogelg. Same thing for peanuts. I don't have any true doglegs left but plenty of the reverse ones :)

I think there's a couple missing but otherwise, that's all the #48s I have :)

Trand, most impressive. I was wondering how long it would take you to find this thread. :)

I always enjoy your 48s. Thanks for grand showing.

Thanks Brett. One of these days I'll take pic with them all. Maybe when I get to 100.

Incredible collection, Trand. I particularly love that blackwood western trapper - that's a configuration that is high on my 'must have' list right now.

And I have to agree, esnyx - doglegs (and reverse doglegs) are in my 'top 3' favorite patterns of all time. They tend to be a nice size - not too big, not too small, ergonomic, and low profile.

Here are mine at the moment:

heres a few of mine. crappy pics as usual but I really love my smooth Ivory Bone and the African Blackwood.

Wow Trand, Sweet Mother of...........................

Superb collection Sir.

some of you guys are fantastic photographers. I can only dream.

Got a Burnside Jack from the exchange. It hasn't arrived yet so I had to "borrow" a picture from...well..you know where ;)

I'm really digging the dogleg shape. If it feels as good as it looks, I may have to pay more attention to this pattern!

Beautiful doglegs everyone! Wow! I went to bed early last night and this thread blew up! Here's another dog leg from my collection, I have about 8 of these:

I never get tired of seeing that DJ with Fes' NZ stag on it!

Me either! I almost couldn't let it go! hahaha

Thanks for the nice comment Paul! That one really is one of my favorites to have left my shop. Not only did it give me an extreme appreciation for stag, but it also reignited my passion for the #48 pattern!!

Those GEC slim doglegs are actually a trapper pattern, the curve is reversed from a true dogleg. Here are a few of mine:

That is a good point, thanks for the clarification. I guess my confusion came from GEC's website referring to them as the "slim dogleg jack". I thought there was something funny about it... oops

I'll edit the title to include serpentines...

Dog leg dreaming....

Indeed. I'm not a fan of trappers (not a spey fan) but I really like the shape of the GEC 48 and the case slimline trapper. However, they are too big for me (UK legal issues). I love the proportions and the long clip blades, if only they were a little more wee. 3 1/2 closed would do it.
