Stay with us, Simona!

In The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and in Whine & Cheese, both appropriate forums for criticizing others' behavior, a mob joined in alongside the few people who felt they had grounds for complaint about Simona. The actions of a mob never look courageous.

But this thread in the Spyderco forum was designed for those friends of Simona and her work to express another kind of opinion. Courtesy, which is a matter of self-respect, would have allowed them to proceed in peace.

How about showing a little class? Every thread doesn't have to turn into a flamefest.

Well put ESAV, but the second time a moderator has had to speak on this subject. Carlos has already addressed this once. And as far as I Know all this started over one deal with one individual, and was resolved. At that time I communicated with Simona via email and she informed me of her decision to leave the forum at that time. I tried to convince her to stay, but she had already decided to leave.
That's too bad, I appreciated her contributions to the Spyderco Forum. I even made Christmas wrapping from her wall paper. That said I hope that Simona is reading this and will reconsider. If she doesn't it's been nice having her around. Thanks for the memories, and the wall paper. :D

We appreciate the "civility" maintained at the "Spyderco house". Thanx much.

Somona's contribution to the Spyderco forum has been esquisite art relating to Spyderco knives. Her creations have been applauded and appreciated by most that have had the good fortune to view them.

She has gone out of her way to create custom art for many of you.

They have ranged from goblins to trees to churches and cemetaries. All created with sincererity, humor, sensitivity and the generous desire to share.

She created what I believe is the longest thread on the Spyderco forum.

Is she a perfect? no. Are you?

She is welcome here and she is welcome on the Spyderco site forum.

This forum was created to be an enjoyable and safe place to discuss Spyderco knives and related topics. We're here to share, learn, teach and have fun, but not at the expense of others.

We've been very good over the years and I personally appreciate the effort that is extended by you to keep it that way.

c'mon Simona, stay...even Sal has chimed in that this forum is special and safe...

Sal, i will send her your reply, and hope it will draw her over the line to come back to the Spyderco website forum at least. Whatever you do Sal PLEASE, PLEASE don't allow a W&C forum on the parent website!

Both Spyderco forums have been indeed much more tolerant websites in the past, and the last thing we can use is a flamewar.

I'll forward your message to Sia.

Thx

Well, did Simona go to another english-speaking forum?

I have had my moments on these forums, and my scars have healed with time.

Perhaps Simonal will return, and this time avoid Whine and Cheese.
I do.
Nice folks there, but we play a different game.

Hey Folks,

I mailed Sia, on Friday, about this topic. She have read my mail, replyed, but refused to come back here, it looks to be worse than bad. I just wanted you to know.. But keep going, maybe she will start to be nervous and will have just a small look..

Anyone who loves Spyderco knives is ok in my book! :)

If we were all the same, life would be boring!

Simona should stay if she wants to. She seems like an OK person, she may tease a bit, but she doesn't realize that there are many immature monkeys on the internet. Their style is, if I can't have this girl, well, I'll scold her, and I'll invent all sorts of justifications as to why I am right to scold her.

As she gets older, she will learn to take these monkeys in her stride. It's very sad when we see such silly, taliban-style behaviour here. It really conforms to the way liberals view gun and knife collectors-----as low-IQ redneck moonshining yokels who are all off their rockers, throwbacks from the neanderthal times, a type of subhuman.

Driven by their lustful and violent impulses to insult innocent east euro girls and to collect large quantities of evil guns and knives.......

Someone says she has reneged on some deal? Didn't get back for two months? Did she cheat anybody? Doesn't sound like it. Sounds more like somebody got ignored and couldn't take it.

You can call someone a crook, if you think they've cheated you, but if you call them a bitch, then it sounds more like a lover's quarrel.

Let's get the terminology correct and not indulge in childish woman-hating remarks.

I would like to note, here, that Simona's post that started all of this was not originally in "Whine & Cheese" but elsewhere. It was mmoved there, apparently because people objected to the display of her rear end. While the display was an "iffy" matter for any forum other than "Whine & Cheese" or "Pirate's Cove", there might have been better ways to handle the matter than an abrupt transfer to "W&C". But, above all, please remember that she did not voluntarily go into "W&C", she was sent there.

Sal and brownshoe, I thank you for your posts. I think that they say what is needed.

FullerH, you left out a small fact: It wasnt her rear, yet she claimed it was. And as for not voluntarily going into W&C, posting an a$$ pic is about the fastest way to get there.

I am in full agreement with Hugh on this......

This subject has a lot longer legs than it warrants, both here, and in W & C.
What anyone gets out of continuosly dumping self righeous posts on Simona is beyond reason.

It is time to put this whole topic to rest. Simona's photo contributions to this Forum certainly out weigh the slight "indescretion" she is accused of.

How many of us have awesome avatars thanks to her? So she fibbed. Have you heard the BS coming out of our "representitives" lately? Don't see any 9+ page long threads about them lieing to us on a daily basis.

She does great work and has come up with some grat marketing ideas for Spyderco. W&C is fun to hang about in but the buisness in there should stay in there. We all know it. I don't remember anyone dragging the Lone Wolf problems out into the open forums. So why drag this out?

Let it rest. I hope she comes back. With the new knives spyderco is releasing she would have a lot of great blades to play with.

Who gives us Rat's ass whether it was her Ass or not?!? I sure don't - her contributions to this forum rival all of the rest of "ours" put together. Cut her some slack - NAYSAYERS!!!!

WE (MOST of us...) LOVE YOU SIMONA _ PLEASE COME BACK!

Jeff/1911.

I'm also going to request that Simona remain here at the spyderforum. I like her work and I don't really care if she posted a pic of an ass that wasn't hers.

My turn I guess...
Initially I never liked Simona. When she first appeared as "Barefoot Simona" and was baring her breasts etc..I thought it was weird that a woman would do this on a predominantly all male website. Something in my head just did not add up. I probably was one of the first people to offend her in the winter of 2002. Simona then left W&C and changed her Pseudonym to Simona and from what I saw became a productive member of the Spyderco forum. Several years later this "ass" thread and a problem with a international trade (that probably went slow/ bad because of shipping over multiple borders) on GB&U also offended Simona. I think that Simona was easily offended because for the most part although she was articulate. talented, and smart, I dont think she understood American culture and we for the most part do not under stand Czech culture. I say this because I have worked with many Europeans and as Americans we make the mistake of assuming that because they write and speak english that they also understand our culture. Euro culture is VASTLY different from American culture. This I feel is the root of the problem. I know that my differences with Simona were primarily a result of this. Either she would say something I percieved another way or I would write somethine as a slangy joke and she would become offended. No one is to blame but we both were at fault.

With that said. I feel that simonas contribution to the Spyderco community was valuable and I wish her no harm or ill feelings. I think that Simona has, like us all made some mistakes and as a community we should be willing to forgive and forget. I know she said that the butt was hers..oops lets call that a lesson learned and move on. I too have pulled a few royal boners on this forum and no one has flamed me.

Sometimes however this whole forum thing can be taken to seriously. When this happens I give it a rest. BFC for the most part is a community of knife Knerds who love sharp pointy things. Some of us are here for learning, some of us are here for entertainment. Some of us are here to make friends. What we all need to do is strive to find our similarities and not emphasize our differences. That is what makes this forum work. So in the long run..I hope Simona takes a break..Im sure many of you have her email..but no one should take this place too serious..its the internet for cripes sake..and someday I hope she returns to the Spyderco forum where she belongs.

signing off...Ren..

Back to training Manatees in W&C..... ;)
