Stay with us, Simona!

Ren , DITTO.

i think that Simona should come back and look forward, BUT remember that she is young and passionated (and ,as ren stated, languages could be tricky and Simona- from her posts- doesnt surely has the knowledge needed to put the slang in right perspective ), so probally the whole thing seemed way much bigger than in reality is..

But if she received privately tons of gross emails with insults and threats - as she wrote - well the thing could be worst to ignore..

anyway, simona should thinks also that MUCH more people here like her- me too as a graphic designer enjoyed her pics - than the bunch that piled on in W&C (but that is W&C , is supposed to work this way and maybe she doesnt also knew that )

and yes, Ren, maybe this forum thing is taken way too much serious, on both sides.

stay sharp if you can. :)

Hate seeing someone leave a community... almost always its for the worse, not the better!

Please do stick around, I like your pictures!

We really miss you...I am so sorry you were insulted by the "others"... :(

Sincerely, Jeff/1911.

Simona's contribution to the Spyderco forum has been esquisite art relating to Spyderco knives. Her creations have been applauded and appreciated by most that have had the good fortune to view them.

She has gone out of her way to create custom art for many of you.

They have ranged from goblins to trees to churches and cemetaries. All created with sincererity, humor, sensitivity and the generous desire to share.

She created what I believe is the longest thread on the Spyderco forum.

Is she a perfect? no. Are you?

She is welcome here and she is welcome on the Spyderco site forum.

This forum was created to be an enjoyable and safe place to discuss Spyderco knives and related topics. We're here to share, learn, teach and have fun, but not at the expense of others.

We've been very good over the years and I personally appreciate the effort that is extended by you to keep it that way.

Never argue with a fool. Onlookers can't tell which one is the fool.

If you will extend me the courtesy, please allow me to interject something here. Most of you probably do not know me, though I frequent the Spyderco forum.

I have corresponded quite extensively with Simona since the inception of this entire mess. In fairness, I have not read the entire exchange in W&C, nor do I care to. Honorable people *can* and should agree to disagree politely, and I regret that it seems difficult for some to do that.

All this being said, Simona has made the decision to leave the knife forums: all of them. I initially tried as many of you have to convince her to stay, but have since changed my attitude and outlook. Please allow me to explain.

In my correspondence with her, she detailed her reasons for leaving. I do not entirely agree with them, but I respect her wishes to be left alone, at least left alone for the moment. The entire episode has been a bad experience for her, and she would rather put it behind her.

Do I hope she returns? Of course. Do I wish that things had been different for her? Certainly. My current screen background is courtesy her kindness, and I appreciate all she has contributed to the Spyderco forums.

But for the time being, I have dropped any attempts to convince her to stay. Why?

I respect her wishes, whether I agree with her decision or not.

I will sorely miss her contributions, but I have the luxury of a continuing dialogue with her on other topics. If I may suggest to anyone corresponding with her, at least for right now: be her friend first. There is always time for her to come back to knife-related forums should she so choose.

Do not misinterpret my intention: I am as saddened by her decision to leave as anyone.

For right now, I suggest giving her some space and time to heal; then we'll see what happens.

Should anyone take issue with my comments and care to discuss them, please e-mail me privately, as I do not want to see this thread deteriorate into a flame war; I have too much respect for this forum, Sal, and Spyderco to allow that to happen should I be able to prevent it.

Ta,

Well said Dr. Lecter.

Simona,

I have enjoyed many of your posts. One of your pictures turned me on to the existence of an S30V Plain Edged Gunting, when others were saying they did not exist. I now have 2 I was able to find, and I was lucky to get them at a good price before the model was discontinued, thanks to the advance notice I got from your post.

I've enjoyed your artwork too.

Many, (dare I say most) of us have experienced insults on the forums. You seem to have come in for a large number as of late.

Many people who frequent the forums do not spend much time in W&C or Pirates Cove forums. If a post is transferred there you always have the option of ignoring it from that point on.

Thanks for your participation in the past. I have enjoyed it, and if you choose to visit the forums in the future I will be pleased.

I never really knew that anyhting bad had happened with Simona. Like many of you I was only privy to the good things that she had done. Is it so hard to just block members you dislike? Why do memebers harass people until they leave? I think we've all been flamed, but to bother people outside of the thread is unforgivable in my book.

This whole thing is sad really, especially since she had such good experiences with so many of us.

My 2 cents

A little late here, but I have not been on the forums for some time. I am very saddened to read here of Simona's departure. She was a HUGE part of the reason I enjoyed coming to this forum, mainly as a lurker but always enjoying her pictures and posts.

The Spyderco community in particular and the Knife community in general has lost an incredible asset by her leaving here. Those that attributed to her leaving should be ashamed of themselves, and I doubt that we shall ever have another member here who will contribute as vastly as Simona did.

I will always remember her with fondness, and with the UTMOST respect.

Simona,

I don't even know you but I urge you to stay. Just ignore the people that bother you. It's not worth it to leave if you are here doing something you like.

Sincerely,
David (Fisher of Men)

No sweat. She's back on the Spyderco home forum.
