Stealth Run #011 Released - 119 Special, CRU-WEAR blade, Grey SureTouch handle w/Aluminum Guard/Pommel

787 remain, so I think there is time to mull it over a bit. Nearly $300 stops any desire to immediately make the purchase. However, I have the other modified clip point 119s so............. going to await some pics from the members and if it sells out in the meantime, that's ok.
Had this been a CruWear 119 with an elk handle and no Cerakote, we may have been speaking about it in the past tense now.šŸ˜€

I love it, steel, Cruwear, bladeshape (same as my 3V one), except for the Cerakote, so I'll pass :(

BTW, "Cobalt Cerakote" - anybody know if it can be stripped ?

With the right solvent anything can be stripped.
I thought about that too, but it seems like a lot of work to do on a brand new knife and it does protect the blade.

Had this a darker guard & pommel I might be more inclined to order (for a more "stealth" look).
The suretouch handle looks good too, love the blade profile, maybe somewhere down the road...

If you guys strip off the Cerakote, it will be shiny and no longer "stealthy"
I didn't spend everything I took to the knife show yesterday so that justifies it, right?
Wow, 1,000 pieces, it is a unique knife but I predict it'll move slow at the given price point.
Well, at least we don't have interstate tariffs to deal with (yet).

Thanks and true.

In my head, it's not so unique actually. Jan 2023 BOTM:

These days, I have a hard time distinguishing good 3V from Cruwear anyways.

Roland.

Another one I'm going to pass on, I think. My knife money is getting siphoned off by some of the Spyderco releases (past and present) in steels that are essentially last of the line now that Crucible's gone, as well as some Cold Steels I've been meaning to add to the collection.

Plus, like ferider ferider I also have the Stealth Run 119 in 3V so I too don't feel much need for this one.

Coated blades have their place (and intended use), but do show wear a lot more and are not necessarily safe for "food prep"

Ymmv...

I received mine today. No complaints. Bead Blasted blade would have made this knife better IMO. The rubber feel of the SureTouch handle is different. Shown with the 104 April BOTM.

I kinda like the suretouch. I've got some custom made knives from David Mary with it, besides this one. so I've used it before. its got a sort of give to it, but hardly at all. also bit of grip to it but not overly so. its not a bad material for a user. easier on the hand than the phenolic under harder use. this ones unique for the steel and the grip material.

This is my first experience with SureTouch. Initially feels like a thin layer of rubber over the handle, but after reading about it, seems it is integrated/layered with the handle material. What has been your experience with the longevity of SureTouch material?

I've only had it in use a handful of years...so its been fine, no degrading or getting sticky, etc.....dont know long term yet.

I haven't left it sitting in a hot car in summer or let it get exposed to harsh chemicals....anything like that, so I guess we'll find out.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback.
