Stealth Run #013 - Carbon Fiber 110 Auto Elite MagnaCut Drop Point

How .. How do you all buy one off their website?

Is everyone who is buying one a supply or procurement officers for the Armed Forces, National Guard, the Air National Guard, militia of a state, or a local government ?
I suspect a severe case of lawyer-itis. I am willing bet a high profile company like Buck has a phalanx of lawyers that, like other lawyers that I have had contact with, caused my eyes to glaze over in less than a paragraph.

So....I wanted an Auto 110. I went to one of my favorite online dealers, used some reward points and got a Buck 110 auto, silver bolsters, clip point, S30v, g-10 handles for quite a bit less than the price of the stealth run. No drop point, bummer, but I can live with that.

I didn't meet the qualifications in the disclaimer and Buck lost a sale. My faith would not allow me to do otherwise.

I think I will enjoy what I am getting though!

Oh my gosh, new knife day came early!!! Just arrived, holy crap this thing is gorgeous! The pics online don't do the marbled carbon fiber justice at all, this is a work of ART! THANK YOU BUCK!! Woo-hoo gotta go show everybody, be back later.😍
We look forward to your picture.
😊

Mine just showed up. Really nice. Buck did a good job on this one.

The marbled fiber carbon feels and looks great. The blade is perfectly centered and the grind is spot on.

Came in today. I really like it the action is perfect, fit and finish seem very good. I like that they put a piece of leather or cloth behind the snap rivet on the sheath so it does not scratch the knife. I have not noticed that before on other Buck sheaths. It came VERY sharp right out of the box. The marbled carbon is awesome. It is solid and catches the light nicely in different ways. Definitely a sheath only knife as it seems quite easy to activate the button if it was floating around in my pocket.
Here a few pictures.

Update: After an evening of fidgeting with the Automatic I have had several times where it would not fire, particularly after I put it in a pancake sheath. I put it back into the stock sheath. But I think there may be a biur somewhere. ?? Iy=T feels really gritty when I operate by hand. I doubt I can address it so maybe Ill just work it alot and hope to smooth out the burr.

Great pics! I'll try to take some of mine tomorrow...this is my first Buck auto ever and i'm really enjoying it, the opening is nice and smooth with just the right amount of positive "click" when it locks, nice bonus that it clicks the lock on closing fully.

Flush it with lots of mineral oil as you work it open and closed.

In my opinion for 300+ dollars that should be standard procedure at the factory. Not one knife should leave the factory With any malfunctions. And please don’t think I’m bashing Buck, just voicing my opinion.
I could not agree with you more. I will be on the phone with Buck when they open. The knife almost never fires now unless I tap it on something. Unless Buck can tell me something I will probably be asking for a refund. Damn this is unfortunate!

It's probably full of gunk.
I've purchased Buck autos and had them be sluggish at first.
Wash it in some hot soapy water, dry it and spray it out well with something like wd40 while operating it.
It should get better.
Then oil it well and play with it some more.

I do have some buck autos that work better than others.
All my auto 112's fire great.

Good luck.
✌️

It is amazingly frustrating to spend that kind of money and not have it work well.
I do believe that if Buck took the time do finish washing and oiling each knife individually so they worked great, they would charge even more for them.
I don't like buying into that thinking, however as long as I can play with my new knife and get it to function properly, I guess I'm cool with it.

^^^This

When I received mine on Sunday, it wouldn’t open more than three-quarters of the way straight out of the box when I pressed the button. I could see some black compound in the pivot area, so I cleaned it with hot soapy water, blew it out with an air compressor, and followed up with a shot of WD-40—cycling the action several times during each step. It’s now working properly and opens with the expected “thwack.” I may follow up with a drop of oil later this week.
