Stealth Run #2 Mango Bird is here!

Thinking forward to Stealth #003 - think Morse Code "501". I would like to see a barehead micarta Squire with a pocket clip and maybe even thumb stubs or thumb disk. Modernize it while keeping it traditional. The 501 is coming up on 50 years, and hoping Buck is planning some special things for the 500 series.

I bought one, but $150 is pushing it. Are you getting one?

I seen it on Facebook and actually thought it was an April fools joke. I didn’t realize it was real.

Not my cup of tea but for those who like them more power to them.👍

I’m not sure if there is a preferred way but my wife always dices them.

My dad used to slice them with the peel intact. Then he would take his knife and make a grid in the mango, but without cutting the peel. That left cubes still attached to the peel. Then he would hold the peel on two sides and eat the cubes, which would stick upward a little when he held the peeling tight. I've seen people from other cultures do it that way, but it's pretty common among Filipinos.

don't know Hawaii or Philippines way...I was taught to cut a line through flesh to seed around it longways. then twist two halves and break seed loose then score and cube....when I feel like doing it that way. sometimes I'm lazy and just slice off pieces and eat off the skin.

My kid wanted a mango and so I made him it it like a pear, which he did. I didn't know you don't eat the peel. Like I said, I never ate a fresh one. Looks like a pear,😀

I never have... its kinda thick and chewy...not real tasty from my memory few times I've missed a piece of skin on prep and eaten it.

The Memphis Blues by the great Louie Armstrong

Folks I've just been down, down to Memphis town
That's where the people smile, smile on you all the while
Hospitality, they were good to me
I couldn't spend a dime and had the grandest time

I went out a dancing with a Tennessee dear
They had a fellow named Handy with a band you should hear
And while the folks gently swayed
All them boys began to play in real harmony
I never will forget that tune they call
Handy's Memphis Blues, oh yes, those blues

They've got a trumpet man leading the band
And folks, he sure blow some horn
And when the clarinet seconds to the trombones croon
It moans just like a sinner on Revival Day

That melancholy strain that ever haunting refrain
Is like a morning sorrow song
Here comes the very part that wraps a spell around my heart
It sets me wild to hear that loving tune again, those Memphis Blues

for some reason, I couldnt spend a dime and had the grandest time..
I went out dancing with a Tennessee dear... jumps out at me... 110 Hunter? whats going down in Memphis?

i just slice them with a knife.. just like an apple... pit can be a pain sometimes... usually need dental floss :D

I'm not a mango fan. I don't like fresh peaches and they taste too much like fresh peaches to me to enjoy them.

I don't think I even saw a mango until I was in my 20s. In Wisconsin we can't waste shelf space on things like that. Where would we put the cheese?
Ditto. I grew up on a farm in northern Illinois, and didn't have a mango until I went to college. They're one of my favorite fruit now, though.

That's exactly what we do at our house.

Back to the knife... I can't wait to get it in my hot little hands. Coincidentally, I have a green Budgie in my pocket now. It's one of my favorite modern smalls. I gravitate towards traditional slipjoints, but there are a few more modern designs that I really like. The Budgie is one.

OK, OK, nothing to see here. Step away from the line. So the March BOTM has 223 left out of 1000 (I passed, not special enough), the Danny Vantage 346 has 28 left out of 87 (I passed, too expensive), and the Stealth Run #2 Budgie has 502 left out of 825 (I ordered one). For the Buck knife aficionados, the train is leaving the station. What is next?

P.S. - I hope these don't linger too long. I would like to encourage Buck to make more.

Since they renewed the Brahma this year, they have to release something special about it. Or I wouldn't mind seeing something with red jigged bone, buffalo horn, or stag on it (the foci of my Case XX collection).

P.S.S. - I know one thing that is next. The new stuff coming on the website. That should keep us occupied for awhile.

It may be a good year to not buy it if you don't love it. A lot of projected/announced things to come, as well as more special/surprise releases in the passed 3 months than in the passed 2 years.

Memphis Blues, the name of the song in the video, is most likely referring to the color Memphis blue. There are several coincidental (?) blue props staged throughout the video and a brief glimpse of a blue Vantage handle at 1:19. Of course, Danny's Vantage has indigo blue paperstone handles. I'm thinking Buck might release Stealth #003 on 5/01 - an aluminum handled Vantage with Memphis blue Cerakote?

Wow. That is some incredible analysis.
