Guys, I want to apologize for my unseemly conduct on this forum.

I'll admit that my temper got the best of me.

I am only human, after all.

The reason for my anger was that, I truly believe that ALL business should be conducted in a proper and universally respectful manner ( as I believe I do), especially when it comes to commerce on the Internet.

My intention was not to come across as a " BADASS or TOUGH GUY".

However, My intention was to warn other potential buyers to be aware of improper business dealings.

As an FYI, I am a serious BALISONG collector, and this Bali is a very special piece (to me anyway).

In the big scheme of things, it is only a knife, and me owning it, was not meant to be, so I'll leave it at that.

I can understand the disappointment and annoyance, but, since no Paypal details were exchanged or money sent, then I'm afraid a seller does have the right to back out. If he had tried to back out by saying he had received higher offers to try and screw more cash out of you then that would've been outrageous.

Yes, it is frustrating, but handing over money and not getting the knife or getting one in questionable condition would have been more than frustrating, and that, unfortunately is what we sometimes read of here.

+1 Seller's, in my opinion, should always have the option to sell to whomever they want to. Until money exchanges hands there is no deal made. In this case it appears the OP really wanted this knife and is just upset he wasn't able to get it. Get over it, and move on.

Am I missing something? If i'm reading this correctly wasn't this deal made outside BF? If so how can you try and give someone negative feedback on a deal that was made outside the forum? I didn't see any link where the knife was for sale on BF. Only emails that both parties said was on another forum. Does't this make everything said on here moot? I don't know either party but do know having negative feedback can give you a bad name in future dealings. Just my .02 cents.

That was an interesting way to start a message, so I read the whole thing. At least, I thought I did, but perhaps I missed part of it. I read the part where you justify your actions, defended your conduct, and insinuated that you are the noble but injured party, but didn't read any actual apology.

Did you perhaps post a draft version by mistake?

You can always post feedback here in GBU. It's only iTrader feedback that requires the deal to have been done here on BF.

What is wrong with you guys? Don't any of you think a man's word means anything? He offered the knife at a price, the price was accepted and then he backed out. It may be legal, but it ain't right and his word is absolutely worthless IMO. And then, you guys think the OP is at fault. Give me a break!

...or a deal to actually happen at all.

This is an unfortunate incident but there doesn't seem to be any deal here to speak of.

Sounds like it was the crossed paths of an overeager party and a reluctant party.

That said, I commend OP for stepping up and realizing he should extend an olive branch. Not many folks can do that.

+ 1 on this. It's like two people car trading. Either party can walk away at any time until the money has changed hands. That's my 2.

Almost, with the exception being that they agreed on a price for the car, the buyer appears with the money in hand and the seller then say "nope". The OP is disappointed, he wanted that knife and when the deal fell thru he reacted to that action. If you asked 10 people; five might say the seller did nothing wrong and five might say the seller screwed up. This is simply one of those situations where no one was wrong but no one is right. No money changed hands but it appears there was a "deal" and as has been said thousands of times; "you are only as good as your word."

I am sure this makes little sense to others but I think I understand what I am trying to say, I think:confused::eek:

On that note, I think we get the gist of what happened. Unfortunately, we do make mistakes and we are only human. I'll edit the thread title, no reason to have undue harm come to anyone.
