This knife belongs in this thread!! It is an Yssingeaux, made from parts from Thiers, by Stephane, and gifted to me by Achillepattada!!
It is reminiscent of a pre-laguiole knife, among others!!
Hello Charlie,
The handle of this knife is in stabilized acacia.
Stéphane loves stabilized woods ( I don't ). It gives usually beautiful colours but it doesn't change and takes no patina .
But I have to add that we don't have is France these very nice micarta which can be found in America. So for those who are looking for synthetic handles it's a solution .
Micarta is very practical and durable, for a knife to use extensively, but nothing beats exotic woods, even stabilized with resin, in my view!!
I like some micartas, and also some acrylics, but materials found in nature are the most aesthetically pleasing to me!
Nice ones in wood, J-M!! I like the file-work on the liners!!
Always preferred it on the liners as opposed to the springs!!
How long are they??
