I'm all for consolidating threads with links but let me put this out there, how about Dave's original pics only thread stand alone as a nod to Dave and all he did here and throuout the forums. Dave was an intrinsic part of the CRK forum and BFC as a whole. Dave put the first Sebenza I ever carried in my hands via a pass around many moons ago. Just my 2 cents and a little show of respect for a great guy.
I'm up for what ever makes navigating the forum easier Bill.
Ted-
I have toiled over that for some time. DaveH still is a staple in this forum..We see his threads daily on most occasions. The conclusion that I ultimately came to is that many people, myself included, just drop past the stickies until they are needed for one reason or another. They are familiar, but easy to pass.. Now, they pop up to the top threads that I believe more people will browse, not less. Popular threads will continue to rise to the top..Especially the picture threads. The list was simply getting too long and information ignored..We switch it up now and then to refresh and rejuvenate..create interest on what has changed.
Most certainly, this is not to disrespect the memory of DaveH. He was a senior member that many, including I looked to for guidance in many areas.
If I find that this is not the case more often than not, I will remove and replace them to their original position..
The threads I have in the new stickies are as locked or unlocked as when I got to them..I have no intentions on locking those threads, otherwise, the point of the exercise would be lost and your thread is definitely not one that should be lost
Is there an issue I need to resolve with it?
Now that I see this mechanics of how this is going to work, it's totally brilliant. Y'know, I never ever looked in the "fixed blade" picture thread, but now that it's "bumpable" I'll probably have a look when there's a new contribution. This is going to work really great.
That's important to note and perhaps some are getting confused. It's only LINKS that are being put in the consolidated stickies, to reduce total stickies while still making threads easy to find. The threads themselves are not being hidden in a "folder" of sorts. If it is a popular thread that is posted in often you will still see it near the top of the list most days anyhow as it gets bumped by new posts. Hope that helps.
Nope, looks good now my friend. When I looked at it earlier I swore it said it was closed, that's why I posted. It's definitely a thread that grows just as CRK grows and is one that will constantly be updated. Many Thanks for keeping it and allowing it to be a Stickey...!!! It's definitely the most difinitive CRK History on the internet.
I've sent Mark (Roefisher) a pm on another forum as he hasn't logged on here since 2013. We've bought, sold and generally traded probably 20 knives over the years so I have a bit of a relationship. Seeing whether he wants to reinstate the links or let the thread float away....

Thank you Nick!
I have often wondered what happened to members such as Roefisher, Raindrop and Professor...I stay in contact with Fooj, a former coworker.
Hope they are doing well and hope to see them back!
Roefisher is alive and kicking just trying to track him down, lol.
Yep Fooj is well and we converse occasionally. Were you a coworker at CRK or elsewhere... I won't take offence at a "mind your own business"
Unfortunately Raindrop has passed! I bought a set of 3 hunters he owned. We had chatted about them a few times, his close friend Gary Graley actually sorted them out and I believe his other knives. He seemed a lovely, genuine guy and I still have pictures and PMs he sent me many years ago.

RIP.

The professor I don't know about unfortunately. Another name that was massively into the brand years ago was westllen.
