 On 3-13-08 10 knives were sold to members of AR15.com for a Cav Aid fundraiser,on 5-21-08 4 knives of the 10 have finally been delivered, but the other 6 are no where to be had. On 5-3-08 We heard (My wife did leave me and it is over now the devorce has gone through a little wile ago. i have been trying to get the knives for ar15 done. a batch of 6 is going out tomarow. its just in the past weeks i have not been in a very good mind set to do these knives and i had allredy put so much time into them with all the grinding and hand stamping that i could not afforde to scrap one. i did these knives to help out a charity so i did not mind knocking off 50 bucks each. all are ground and 4 need to be heatreated. 2 are compleatley done and 4 need cord wrap handles. in the mess of the being single agen i had to get a job and quit being full tiime as it would not pay all the bills so now time has been limited and i have been working on them on saterdays and sundays. im not trying to delay anything at all, i would feal a whole ton better if thay where all done and out the door. there is just so much crap to deal with and now its settleing down and im back in the game.) This could have been good advertisement for his work.Everyone was excited and liked the looks of his knives. I would not recommend putting time or money towards anything he has to offer at this moment unless he can step up and fullfill his obligations for the orders that are already paid for.

come on im doing what i can. i am working on the other 6. thay will be out the door by the end of the week. thay are most of the way done. i took this job as a kindness as i wanted to help out the cause. also i am not taking any orders right now till i get these done.

If you are gonna finish these out before too long that would be good. This will be almost 2 1/2 months if you send them by the end of May.

ummm 2 1/2 month wait for 10 custom knives? Four of which have been delivered already, What is the problem here? I would say thats pretty speedy. I have waited almost a year sometimes for a custom knife.

Personally, I find this absolutely inappropriate. The OP has overstepped the boundary here.

I agree, totally inappropriate to bring this here, but I will point out that this is another perfect example of why the makers and customers should IMHO agree to pay after the knife is finished or at least come up with a smaller downpayment solution if money is needed to buy the supplies. The customers would not be out money waiting for their knives, and since JT had some unexpected issues come up he could have felt free to walk away from the project with no regrets.

My gripe was on 3-26 we were told

#1 done
All stamped
3 heat treated
6 need heat treatment
9 need handles

going to try and push through them tomarow

Then on 5-3 we were told
a batch of 6 is going out tomarow

On 5-21 4 of these were delivered.

Just don't lead people on if they aren't gonna be ready when planned.

ETA This is all I have to post on this matter.

When someone gives their word please guys cut them a bit of slack. Makers don't start out by saying okay so how many people I'm gonna rip off today. The maker had some difficulties and was honest about it, and will get the knives done soon. I agree that 10 knives in 2 and a half months is pretty good.

Some times you should give the person the benefit of the doubt and just believe everything will work out for the better without always bringing it to the forum.

just my 2 cents your welcome to disagree
take care

I didn't post this to start a pissing match with other users. The 4th poster in this thread had already replied to another thread that involved this issue.

But now I'm a bad guy for posting here. The top of this page states.

(FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! This is your area to tell about your experiences (Good or Bad) with dealers, sellers, and individuals you've bought, sold, and traded with.)

That is what I did. If you weren't involved in this deal, or even know what kind of knives they are, don't jump to conclusions. If this is so inappropriate have the mods delete this thread.

Okay, that confused me at first. To anyone reading, Ren's post above is a screenshot of another thread, not a reply to this one. The text below the Burger King is not Ren's.

I dont really see the problem here my self
The time scale is not out the ordinary even for one custom knife never mind 10 pieces. JTKnives also responded to threads informing every one as to whats going on, that is more than some people manage.

Just my 2p

agree with haze on the time, not too bad so far, & the lines of communication seem open, i would give it some time, perhaps things will work out.

i dont see any big deal going on either,

The knives have been delivered. The orginal delivery date was very ambitious and would have been difficult to make under optimum circumstances. I wish all the best to Mr. Todd and hope he can resume fulltime knifemaking soon.

Great to see that the knives have been delivered. I happen to think that it was done in a very timely manner and that JT Knives fulfilled his obligation satisfactorily.

I guess this could cause confusion for some, this seem to have happened elsewhere but was okay to be brought here?

Stuff is brought here from elsewhere all the time. How many times have you read about someone being screwed on eBay, or by a dealer that isn't a member here, or by a person that has nothing to do with Bladeforums?

exactly keith, I know I see it all the time. but sometimes its ok and other times its not. i know it confuses me.

About half the people involved are members here. I don't think it is a stretch to post in the forum. It might have been slighty premature, but it is done now.
