Nice Buck 303 but I don’t recognize the emblem embossed in the shield. I owned a mid-1950’s era M71 at one time, handloaded IMR3031 and that same Hornady bullet - combo shot well in my rifle. OH

I have a 71 that a friend got for me. Am having a great time loading for and shooting it.

M Mr. Chips great old Winchesters, final refinement of the M1886 and last of the big frame leverguns. Seems I had two loads, the IMR 3031 load and another with IMR 4064 - both used the Hornady bullet. Nowadays I’m content with a Marlin M1895 that I bought in 2007 in the 45/70 GOV’T. Leverguns are like traditional knives, plenty of more modern stuff out there but the traditional design still gets the job done. OH
