Stockman Sunday picture show

Kabar 1081 Medium Stockman, my last EDC from my Guard career, (carried this one from 98-05). Got it in my left hand, cooking lunch at an airfield in Saudi Arabia, OIF 2003. OH

I've had a little fun checking out the stockman pattern over the last few weeks.

Medium stockman from case that I picked up for a friend. 1971 pocket worn redbone.


This little Camillus... I didn't think it would be this small but it's a neat little thing.


Here it is as compared to the large Camillus stockman that has quickly become my favorite knife, and the medium case shown above.



So.. it's been fun seeing various sizes. I love the combo of coping, large clip and pen blades. Now to find a really nice Camillus 884!

It's an interesting knife. The bone is really nice, the handle fit and finish is superb, and the mechanics of the knife are also top notch. The careless blade finish and the simple Germany stamp make me wonder though...

Yeah, but I find myself using the larger spey blades, like on the Sowbelly & Premium Stockman more that I ever did. Just not for the originally intended purpose.

I’ve wondered that myself. Normally a stockman has three blades. But the Blade Forums 301 is considered a stockman. If I remember correctly Buck even considered the little 309 a stockman (or maybe I just always did. )

Kind of you to say so, thank you, the background is lichen growing on a well-head. They're a couple of my favourites...well as a knife addict I likely have a couple of dozen favourites...but
