I didn’t know Northwoods made a three-blader. One of the coolest stockmen I’ve ever seen. That jigging. Oh my!🤩🤩🤩
That Stockman dates from the Dave Shirley years, and that particular style of jigging was used on several Northwoods models during that time. The covers were referred to as "Italian Jigged Bone," and featured a beautiful deep red/brown color.
Glad to hear you like it, Dave! 👍

How are the springs on yours? I got a pristine Muskrat with the beautiful Italian jigged bone and the spring snapped after a week or two of light use and pocket carry. Evidently brittle springs are a common occurrence amongst that vintage of NW slipjoints.

*edit: JW225 JW225 reading back, I realize my message may be a bit tone-deaf. I am not trying to rain on your parade, you have a beautiful stockman anyone should be pleased to own (myself included). I was just curious to see how it was holding up. I hope you enjoy a lifetime of use out of it.

Thanks for your additional note, oldmanwilly oldmanwilly -- no worries! :)

Sorry to hear about the spring on your Muskrat. Fortunately, I have had no such issues with Northwoods or any other Queen/Schatt & Morgan knives from that period. I'll have to respectfully disagree with the comment that such a problem was a common occurrence with early Northwoods knives. Problems like the one you describe apparently surfaced from time to time with knives made by Queen (as certain threads here will attest). But, I don't think it's fair to attribute any such issues to Northwoods as a brand generally. Just my opinion. ;)

To come full circle, here's another Queen-made stockman -- a 1987 Black Box Winchester...
