Very nice knives and an awesome comparison! My 1976 6318HE is carbon steel as opposed to stainless, but I too think it will find it's way into my pocket more often than not! Maybe I'll post a pic of mine next weekHere is a good comparison, the Delrin 1976 (bought used) has been one of my most carried EDC's for years. The jigged bone 1977 (bought new) has never been used. Look at the main Clip Blades - you can see the difference. However, if you compare my 1976 to a current Case 18 pattern the main blades will be much closer as the blades have narrowed over the years. Pretty excited about one of these landing in my mailbox today - bought it off the exchange here on Monday - perfect blade combo for an angler (of course SS would be even better but it's hard to get everything you desire in one pocketknife). OHToday the case CS medium stockman with punch is riding in my pocket

Thanks! I didn't realize it was less common. I understand that the P in HP stands for sPey and the E in HE stands for pEn. The snap on this one is definitely strong (esp after a good cleaning and a drop of oil), but not too much as you point out! A nice very for sure.L lithicus nice knife! Looks like you have the Pen blade in lieu of the Spey blade as one of the secondary blades. That would be less common than the Spey version (not rare, but fewer). Finding the variations is part of the fun to me. Bet it has super snap too (not too hard, not too soft - just right - Baby Bear Snap!) OH
