Stolen: Entire collection

Hi all,

Not sure where to put this one, so feel free to flame if my eyes missed a better section.

As I posted in Spyderco's forum, I was recently a victim of a theft in my home (which I was moving out of 2 days from when I was burglarized) and lost all my knives shy of the superhawk I has carrying that day, along with a couple watches, and all my prescription meds. So its likely that my knives went to buying meth. There were PLENTY of other items that would have fetched more than a knife collection there, in much more plain view than my knives.

Anyway, here's the list:

Just be on the lookout, as some of them are pretty low production. All of these (shy of the ones illegal to carry in this state) are EDCs, so they meant a lot to me. Not to mention, I had personally heat treated most of them, which only adds to my frustration.

Anyway, some eyes out would be fantastic, but I'm not holding much hope for getting mine back. Trying to find an SnG for the meantime until renters insurance MIGHT pay out (yes, they may not be covered) so if anyone sees a good user, I'd love to hear about it!

Wow...That totally sucks dude. i can't imagine losing my collection, I would go crazy. Where do you live? If you are near kentucky i will def. keep an eye out. Hell, i'll keep an eye out anyway.

Here's to putin' out some good vibes your way to help with some sort of recovery:)

PS make sure you hit up all the nearest pawn shops you can find, but you may need a police report on the theft to get them back at the pawnshops cost.
I hope the insurance pays off too.

Sorry to hear that man, If you live anywhere near Washington I'll keep an eye out for you, this just adds to my paranoia about getting broken in to...
 
So sorry to hear that! People will do anything to get a fix!! Best of luck! I ll keep my eyes peeled! I would check local pawn shops ASAP!! And notify LE if you havent already!
 
who else knew they were there?? I doubt the average crackhead would spend anymore time than is neccessary searching out "valuables" when there is a perfectly good PS3 /XBOX/TV or such like which are more hockable than a collection of (to the crackhead)maybe valuable knives.Could it be someone you know Or someone who knows you via another person?

That sucks we'll all keep an eye out. Keep a watch on fleabay as well. Hate to say this but if all they took is meds, knives, and watches, I wouldn't be surprised if its someone you know. Hope that's not the case and that there's some kind of positive outcome.

Sorry about your Knives ~~ but you never said where you live where people could be on the look-out.!
That is what ADT is for and a couple of German Shepards and 2 Safes are for and God bless them if they can get mine ~~ plus I come and go a lot during the day.! Got hit in Fl. a long time ago for 16 Guns - Knives and Ammo and I learned my do and don't in a hurry. Only got two of the Guns back and a deduct of $900 on my Income Taxes. Not much for what they got.!
Hope you do better than I did and get all yours back.*

I'm sorry to hear that, you said that you heat treated them, did you work at Spyderco? Where do you live? Did you check at all of the local pawn shops? They have to keep a list of all items bought/pawned through their shop for the police, and would definitely recognize a bunch of knives someone tried to sell. Whoever took them will get bit, that's for sure.

also make sure to go by and check the stolen property section at the local police station.
more often than they want to admit ... items from other crimes get collected by not connected to other crimes.
check the pawn shops

Yep, this is my thought as well... Sounds like you may have been targeted by someone who at least knew of your collections...
 
Friends or family, street idiots don't know what knives cost, if you think it was a crack head, it's time to start checking local pawn shops, some owners will look for stolen stuff, offer a reward for calling you when the individual comes in with the loot.

Watches and pills same story, looking for an easy sell.

There is a very very small chance that someone who knows knives broke in and was actually smart enough to only take what he could shove in a shopping bag or backpack.
 
Sorry it happened, but your post is useless if we don't know where you live.

I also agree that there's a high chance you got robbed by someone you know.
