stolen knife notice

I know alot of guys dislike me for requiring "signature confirmation" on USPS packages, but I haven't had a box disappear yet. "delivery confirmation" just gets it in the mailbox,on the porch,...near the front door...over the fence. Guys end up waiting to find free time to get by the Post Office...but those packages have always been there waiting for there signature. I've had Paypal make good on disappearing packages as well.
Good luck Dave!

You have to send it Priority or Parcel post. No first class on 110's!

...That's exactly what I figured Jimbo and is why I was curious as to how 338375 was sending his out first class. I'm still really wondering about the true "worth" of USPS insurance though...

I wonder about the true worth of almost ANY insurance. You can't live without it, but companies just never want to be responsible for legitimate claims!

wwell guys i was at the post office yesterday and was told to come back today and today to come back tomarow the person is hard to catch..
but i learned today that once they get a "contaner" full of packages
guess were it goes next...... FED X !!!!
the post man that took the package from me remembered that box!
and when i told him what the condition of the box was beat up with a hole and
and that knives were missing was
he said quote " sounds like what the Fed X people do some times"
Fed X said i
"yes we use fed x all the time"
go figure!!!

I have always appreciated it Scott! Then I knew that the knife would arrive! I guess for the extra money, it is worth having sig. confirmation!

insurance at 201$ also has to have a sig for delivery!
i was told by the counterman to always have it for any thing over 50 in value!
expensive lesson ...
sig confirmation is worth the money to me now!

update!!! well i finley got to talk to the customer rep at the post office!
THE way to send any thing of real high value is
REGISTERED MAIL...
she told me that is how many diamond dealers ship gem's.
this has every one that handles the package sign off on it..
it takes a few days longer but it has the least chance of being lost

also ANY TIME you have items missing from a damaged box
no mater if it is or is not insured
you Should report it to postal inspectors at 1-877-876-2455
