So i actually posted about a week ago in the general discussion thread about my Spyderco Caly 3 CF package being stolen.

I was hoping if anyone on the forums sees anything/anyone from san diego, ca 92122 area trying to sell this specific knife, to let me know. I already filed a police report, and have gone looking around the dumpsters to see if the box was discarded so i could get fingerprints. But no luck as of yet. I'm keeping an eye out on craigslist and ebay( there is one caly 3 being sold from san diego, but i'm not sure where in san diego).

It sucks that this happened, cause now i'm cautious of everyone in the apt building. Checking to see if i can see a knife clip in anyones pockets, and going to the dumpsters is annoying enough as it is. I had a few friends have their bikes stolen, but one friend found them on craigslist and were able to get the police involved, and got their bike back.

I saw another thread of a member having his knife stolen at a knife show and prompted me to post this. I'm hoping this bastard gets caught. I'd be happy if i could catch them in person, but either or, i want this person caught.

Thanks for staying around for my rant. I hope you guys that got scammed by the philippino saudi scammer get your justice too.

I just checked out eBay and craigslist to see if I could find anything, too. On eBay, the Caly 3 listing from San Diego has multiples of it stock and is from an established seller (assuming we're talking about the same listing -- I only saw one). So chances are that's not your knife. Sadly, unless the person from your apartment complex who stole it is a knife nut, it's much more likely that he'll pawn it or sell it locally for pennies on the dollar than use it himself or go to the trouble to find out how much it's actually worth and sell it for that amount on eBay, craigslist, etc. :(

I'm actually considering picking up a Caly 3 CF sometime soon, so I'll let you know if I come across anything suspicious in my browsing. Good luck recovering your knife -- it sucks that there are people out there who will think nothing of stealing others' property.

Well the person got the whole package, so the packing slip with the price was in there. Checked out the ebay seller last night too a little more and saw he had well set up store, so definitely don't think it's him anymore :P I don't know of any pawn shops around here, but something i'll look into when i'm not at work. My police report went official this morning, so hopefully shop owners will help me out. I know it was only a $100 knife, but just don't want whoever is doing this to get away with stealing other peoples packages as well. I've been here for almost 2 years and i alwys see packages being left at doors, hopefully they're lucky and weren't taken.

thanks for looking out neuron
