STOLEN KNIVES from RDU AIRPORT on 03/04/14

What a loss! Can you provide a brief description of the circumstance? You'll have many on this forum keeping their eyes peeled.

Hello fellow knife enthusiast,
I plead to you to keep your eyes out for appx 150 custom knives that were stolen from an online knife purveyor. Here is the link to see what was stolen.

If you have any information please contact them immediately. Thank you all for your help.

Rdu Raleigh durham international airport. I live 20 minutes from here, if this is the airport your speaking of.

I'll pop my head in some pawn shops and keep my eyes open for sure. I'm a contractor I do business all around this area.

I really am not liking all these thefts lately in this hobby. I wonder if the thief knows what they just got themselves into. Roughly a quarter million dollars in customs that are so unique there is no way to move them without exposing yourself. Its not like this was a case of production knives that have little no traceable traits. I sincerely hope the thief wakes up and returns them. Or gets caught and serves hard time. Hope the guy is insured.

I really don't know the details but From what I can gather second hand sounds like somebody just walked up in the baggage claim area and took their case. I think it was an unmarked pelican case. It sounds like they have the person on video taking the case but unless they have a way of identifying the person not much they can do.
Again please take all this info with a grain of salt because Ill I am doing is reporting it second hand here.
My main objective is to get the word out and have as many people as possible watching for the knives.
If you have any info or want any further details on the link there is a email address.
Thank you all for helping. Its nice to know that we look out for each other.

Gunshow in Hickory NC this coming weekend. I'll be going Sunday. Those are WAAAY above & beyond anything I've ever seen at my local show, but I'll keep a lookout. I seriously doubt I'll find anything, but those won't be hard to miss if they're there! Sorry for your/their loss! Those are amazingly beautiful!

Wow. That's terrible. Every one of those knives looks more valuable than my entire collection. I was pretty angry when my Benchmade 707 Sequel was stolen/lost, but this is just a different level.

Wow, all those valuable knives in one suitcase. Bet his heart dropped when he realized it was missing. I really hope his collection is returned to him or
at least most of the value via some sort of insurance.

What a heart-breaker. There are no words to express my anger directed at the POS thief. I wonder how he will move some of those knives, they are classics!!!

That makes me both sick and angry. I really hope those MF'ers get caught. Not just theft of art, but a person's livelyhood.

What sucks is that if they figure out the value of what they've stolen they'll probably discard or destroy them as to not go to jail for a very long time.

There's a gun show this weekend outside of Chicago I was considering stopping at maybe I'll take a look? As mentioned though they are all custom, who knows if they were dumb enough to steal it maybe they'll be dumb enough to try and move them.

After looking through all those beautiful pieces....it really does make me sick. That's a lifetime collections worth of priceless irreplaceable blades..... Why do I go on you all know how bad it is I am at a loss for words at this point.

This was so much worse than I expected from the title.

So many beautiful blades that won't find a proper home.

:(

My sympathies to the dealer. I hope they catch the scumbag thief.

I hope they get caught soon and pay dearly, that is a mans leaving they fucked with.

I hope those folks get their knives back, but chances are, they won't.

It's bad enough when thieving employees of the Airline, TSA or Airport steal your stuff, but I cannot figure what type of total crap security an airport has when a stranger can just walk into the baggage claim area, pick up any suitcase they fancy and walk out with it without anyone even looking if their checked baggage stub matches the suitcase they are taking!

If I were the owner of those knives, I would already be talking to a lawyer about suing the airport and/or airline for gross negligence. Baggage claim should be accessible only for arriving passengers and the exit should have a security person checking bags against claim stubs.

Sorry to have to say this, put I think i just purchased a couple of your knives from National Pawn in Raleigh NC. I bought a Jim Burke, Jens Anso, Tim Britton ECCKS knife, and a Strider SMF custom all for less than $1,000, they also had many other knives on your list, maybe you should go look before they are all gone :(
