Stop with the half stops

I’m getting curmudgeonly. Tired of every knife having to have a half stop. I like a nice firm, smooth cam tang. I especially hate it on round bolstered knives and stockmen. It does not show better build quality. Just stop it.
Reese Bose: "They don't need half stops."

Tony Bose: "Yes they do."

Now a few less come with them. (And it's everyone's loss.)

I like 'em both ways. (Very occasionally on the same knife.)

All pocket knives originally came with half-stops. French cutlers introduced cam-tangs as a way of reducing wear to the spring, which causes the blade to rise in the well (when closed), and eventually for the knife to lose it's walk and talk. The invention was apparently slow to catch on in Sheffield, because Sheffield cutlers foresaw they would sell less knives, and they stuck with 'built-in obsolescence' ;)

sooooo...... I'm sort of getting a feeling here, that perhaps you are against half stops... maybe I'm reading more into it than you intended, or maybe you should clarify, to avoid confusion....🤣

How about we have a little from option “A”.. and a little of option “B”. People buy what they want, but the people without half-stops can use up all the bandaids. 😁
Just remember...it's not the fall that kills you...it's the sudden stop.

(I am not advocating either method as stated previously. I own many of each.)
