Stop with the half stops

sooooo...... I'm sort of getting a feeling here, that perhaps you are against half stops... maybe I'm reading more into it than you intended, or maybe you should clarify, to avoid confusion....🤣
No I love them.

They allow me to display my knives with the blades open instead of actually using them.

They have another feature too. Half stops provide a thoughtful pause for contemplation. I use this moment to debate whether I should use the knife or just take a photo with the blade open.

One thing to note, cam tangs allow greater flexibility to leave the knives open in varying degrees of positions unlike a knife with half-stops.

Here's weird one from the last couple years of Queen. Forget about half stops, let's think "gear"

Most Rough Ryder/Rider (excluding the "Reserve" models) Marbles, and BTI Schrade/Uncle Henry/Imperial don't have them. Neither do my Case canoe, Sod Buster, Jr, and tear drop. The Case 11031SH I had that went AWOL, lacked a half stop, as well. Buck's 300 series don't have them, neither do any of the up to 91/93mm SAK's, so far as I know. I don't know about the larger Swiss Army Knives.
I think the only knives I have with half stops are GEC.

I must disagree with your statement: "...(I)t does not show better build quality..."
If/when done properly and the backspring is flush when the blade is closed, at half stop, and fully open, it does indicate at least, a higher build quality.

I'll agree they really aren't needed. 😊

I like a half-stop because I like to close my slipjoints one-handed… and I’ve been bit a few times by some that slam shut before they hit the halfway point.

That’s what legs are for. It’s one handed, technically.

I doubt that it was the fault of the half stop... were your fingers out of the way? 🤣
I agree haha. It was actually opening the knife. Factory oil + strong pull + half stop. Finger slipped and landed on the blade at the half stop as I kept pulling it open.
