Stop with the half stops

Here's weird one from the last couple years of Queen. Forget about half stops, let's think "gear"

Blade was laser cut and they forgot to clean up the tang. Bet you can feel that when you open the knife! I'm really surprised it got past inspection.

I think where problems really ensue is when switching back and forth between what are, essentially, different manuals of arms. When one is expecting a half stop and there isn't one, or vice versa, is where slip ups can occur. Much like with firearms, it's best to dedicate oneself to a single platform exclusively, lest under duress you forget which platform you're dealing with. And in this case, I would define "duress" as being, "when I want a BLT sandwich right now, but still need to slice the tomato."

Even then, I'm sure you know more than I do about their history...but it's hard to imagine that no one made a folder with a spring before they figured out how to build in half stops.

But...I dunno. So, further, affiant sayeth naught.
They had half-stops, it was cam-tangs they didn't have! 😁

I'll throw in some more detail, and a reference tomorrow (running on Yorkshire time ;) ) 👍

Apropos of not much, your writing style suggests you are an attorney, or a litterateur. Hmmm.

The dress code was a little cooler in Miami, right? 😃

Everything about it was cooler. My old outfit in NYC was very, very anal about most everything from the format for reports to dress code.

Miami was like the wild west in comparison...and thankfully so. It was a fun time to be in LE.

(I transferred down there from NYC in '87, to give some perspective on what was going on at the time. (It was mostly narcotics, money laundering, arms smuggling, with a sprinkling of anti-terrorism for added flavor.)

Before some "wise-acre" comes in and says; "ha ha ha ha, if more people would carry a "fixed blade" they wouldn't have to worry about cutting themselves because of half stops", I'd ask; how many times have you stabbed yourself putting your fixed blade back in it's sheath?
