hello all... my HIKV has hit hard as most of you may know
my fiance would also like the couch to be used for people now instead of knives.

i originally thought 1or2 gorilla rack storage shelves would do the trick of storing my khuks... but then thought i would post this to get more ideas.

what are you guys using to store your khuks? anybody hang them?
how do you hang a heavy khuk safely? most of the sword displays ive seen do not have wide enough slots for khuks in sheath

pics be be awesome if possible :D

thanks in advance

Steve Ferguson has a neato system. Its pegs he hangs them from. You could do it that way.

I store mine on the shoe shelves in my closet.........who needs shoes anyway:D You can also stand them on end in a 5 gallon bucket, makes transporting several to the patio at once a breeze. Then there's a few in all my dresser drawers and few on the plant stand and a few on the shelf in the living room a lot in the kitchen drawers, a couple in the garage................oh, and a couple under the bed:rolleyes:

When i was in training for the job I have, we were told when we went into a house at a crime scene to do a visual check for weapons that could be used to harm the victim. Then we are supposed to get them to go to a different room........they'll have to take me out to the back patio.........hope it isn't cold;)

I have heard that if you hang them on the walls be sure they are VERY secure. I don't want to hear about you having one fall off and slice you hand or head or some other part of you bod off.

For swords and medium to larger khukris those wall mounted sword racks work well if you want to display your blades unsheathed. Several places are having closeout sales on the 8 sword burgundy rack by UC for as low as $9.99.

Here's a couple of old pics of my computer room/arsenal.:)
I also have a large roll around mechanics toolbox that I keep the smaller knives in.

Oh, Jai, Jerry Spencer Mings makes and sells stands also.

thank you thank you everyone :D

wow ferguson  that setup is amazing... i may have to steal that idea one day

i think for now as a temporary fix i will be using buckets as mamav suggested :)

thank you all!!! you have been very helpful.

Bucket O Khuks has long been a popular and cheap storage.

In case of fire, just grab bucket and run.

I just use the spare bedroom/office wall.

Got another 20 or so that need hanging realy but, I think that would be to overpowering even for me, never mind female friends.

2 walls covered seems ok. but 3 would just be like living in an armoury.

Guess I need a bigger place, or I just shouldnt keep so many of them!

wow spiral!!! thats amazing lol
how did you manage to hang the khuks in that fashion?

Thankyou, it works for me.

Well the scabbarded ones I tie a builders cotton string line as a noose round, the scabbard & a fixed loop on the other end then just hang them on a little picture nail. I dye the cotton to match the scabbard to help it blend in.
Can just lift them off in one second, which I like.

The horizontal ones I rest on small brass picture hooks in the middle of the blade . I bend then to fit the blade exactly & another small pin that I then site to rest the kaudi onto to balance them firmly.

Its fairly unobtrusive that way I think?

perfect!!! beautiful khuks you got there spiral.
i will try this method tonight on an existing nail in my wall :D

many thanks :)

Cool, no problem, ittakes a bit of practice to get the noose at right height & position to hang them at exactly the angle you want, but you soon get used to it.
