On Southpadre and Brownsville things are pretty rough right now. Where I am at and McAllen, we have 70+ miles winds. I didnt think 70mph was anything to be worried about, but WOW. I peeked out my back door and my and my neighbors sheds, and wooden swingsets are trashed. I can live with that. Amazingly we still have power though it up and down. This storm is taking its sweet time and is expected to be another 6-8 hrs before it settles down. There are downed trees everywhere. I guess I am going to have to pull the old chainsaw out and help out folks once Dolly heads to Mexico.

Thanks for the update Pancho... I heard that downtown Harlingen is in about 2 feet of water at places.

That damn storm just seems to be hovering over you guys. Good luck! Just send word if you need any help.;)

My thoughts go out to all you South Texas brothers. We have some nasty crap headed our way, but nothing as bad as whats hanging around the coast right now.

well the power is out and won't be up till sometime tommorrow evening. I am using my sprint mogul, dam I love this phone. the whole region is still getting a good whoopin. shingles were ripped off one corner of my roof and there is water leakin in the walls. there goes my para mili fund. dang wind doesn't want to quit. there is a lot of flooding here and in all other nearby towns accordi to local news. hang tight to anybody who is feeling this storm.

If any of you guys get in a jam and need supplies, etc., let us know and I'll organize a care package campaign via the membership here. I'm sure people will chip in, right everyone?
+1 on that. Y'all stay safe. Good luck and our prayers are with you.

Living in hurricane country here, I know how it feels. Reach out if anybody needs some help. I'll do what I can.

I work in the Disaster Recovery business.

WOOHOOO!! Power is back on at least for my area. Just finished cutting up a downed tree at a buddies house, cleaned up yard, and took down boards on windows. We were very blessed not to have any major damage. The hurricane really did a number on mobile homes, trees, and power poles though. The folks on the coast got slammed pretty good. There are thousands without power still. Now we just need to worry about flooding and the clean up. I have'nt heard of any fatalities so that is great news.

There were some guys swimming at the beach on South Padre Island during the beggining stages of the hurricane. Those guys were nuts to be out there. I am just happy that my family is safe.

Glad to hear you and the family are good, and no big damage was done to your home.

I'm glad your family is safe panch0. I've been through a few in S. Louisianna.

Rip that wall open and dry it out or you'll get mold. Don't file a claim. Your insurance will likely drop you for mold.
