strangest thing you have stropped your blade with

Beyond the usual leather strop, cardboard, jeans leg, belt, newspaper, etc as stropping materials...your palm will actually work.
 
The bottom of a coffee mug, not the finest material, but I read it could be used in a pinch so I tried it. I think my leather belt would be better in a pinch.

I was on youtube watching a video unrelated to the knife community the other day, and the person had to use a pocket knife (opinel) and he stropped it on his palm since he had nothing else. I was like 'hmmm learn something new everyday!'
 
Why hasn't anyone mentioned using denim jeans...

Much safer than using the tail of a cat and being stropped by his claws.

Denim works great for me. Works better than live animal fur or microfiber, as far as I know. I don't have a cat or microfiber...............

A leather belt and a crayon LOL, I heard it worked and didn't have a strop yet so I tried it, It worked o.k. actually.
 
Window edge, pants, cardboard, sticks, and with junk knives, Ive tried cement. (It doesnt work too well. :D)
 
ive been LMOA all night and day of the looks you get from spouses and pets
 
I pull back the comforter and then pull the bottom sheet tight and strop on the sheets............they make linen strops, so why not use the linens!!

I also use old belts. If you have an old belt that has a not too rough, not too smooth leather texture, throw some compound on it, clamp or hook the buckle to something and you've got a homemade strop that works great!
 
My leather Redwing workboots. The dust on them helps a little better than just plain leather.

Im impessed , the microfober was one whole show of pawn stars but it had a sweet effect atleast on cpm m4
