This is one hell of a knife. Strider has been making their knives to a new standard. IMO there's not much that tops this.

I can't disagree. Strider's attention to detail has definately gone up lately.

I fully agree. I have sold off all of my old striders and have purchased one new one so far and love it. I am looking for more but i am holding out for exactly what i want and you know how that goes, the waiting game!!!!

You dont get out much??;)

No offence, but there are a heck of a lot of nice knives out there.....
Me thinks you haven't owned one, and don't like strider. The new strider have consistently close to perfect fit and finish I'd put up there with taichung spydercos, which I would say are close to crk in f&f

Sure there's an abundance of nice folders out there. I own or have owned a great deal of them. But like I said IMO the SMF and SnG are tough to beat. Thanks for your input however.

...i'm content with my 2 "old" SMF's; no intention of selling them or getting new ones (what's the point?)...they are solid in all respects and expect them to last for many many years of service...

No need to go into Striderette mode right off the bat. Its annoying - stop it.

What you think of me is of no importance what so ever. Besides, you deduce an awful lot from me saying, there are many fine knives in the World.

The OP made a broad sweeping statement which sort of ignores the scores of fine knives out there - to say a Strider tops Daniele Serrano's knives for example (and many many other high quality knives) is rather far fetched.

Your comparison level are Spyderco and CRKT knives - If I should make a statement like yours, Id say it it sad, that this is the limits of your 'knife horizon.'

As it happens , Im a huge fan of Spyderco knives and CRKT knives (Id happily buy Spyderco knives all day long if possible) - there are just many other fine knives out there.

Take a look a Serranos knives, Guichard and many many others.

Holy Smokes man! It was a general statement he was making about how nice the knife is to him, not a factual, end all claim. I know I "got it". Can a guy just show off and enjoy his knife without a lesson.

He's right, chill out, and keep an eye on the topic. Reading skills are crucial, the man said crk not CRKT, and the discussion was on production, not custom.

That Strider is a very good-looking knife.

Agreed!
Although, as mentioned, my older Strider folders were just fine.
My EDC is an SnG DGG Satin Tanto. It's my pocket yoroi toshi. AND... I was gifted this knife. Thank You, Rich.
Enjoy your knife, Broh.

I'm perfectly 'chilled out,' thanks.
The topic is how well Striders are made and how not much tops them in the OP's opinion.
You are correct; reading skills are crucial - there was no mention of comparing Striders with production knives only in the OP.
I disagree; I dont find the Strider a good looking knife, but to each his own.

I certainly have no intention of getting into a scrap on account of this one.

severedthumbs, thanks for your balanced answer to my post.

Though I'm not in the market for a Strider, you can of course use your money for what ever you choose.

I'm out of this one.

Very nice knife you have there. Congratulations on a real beauty.
You're right, the stuff coming out of SKI right now is incredible. The guys have really stepped up on quality and finish.

I loved all my Striders. Their fit and finish/blade centering has always been perfect and I am talking about 7 knives. I own about everything from high dollar customs to high quality production knives. I am very picky. Striders are not as refined as my Lambert or Mosier knives but that doesn't mean they are not as nice for what their intended purpose is.
I ador the design of the SNG/SMF. They are perfect in the hand in any grip. My only gripe about all my Striders has been that I could never get a wicked sharp edge on them. I understand they are hard use knives but other than a good working edge, I could never get them super sharp like I can on a PM2, Emerson, etc....

Very nice. I'm more of the lego flamed Ti but then again, I also sometimes drink beer from a pop top can.
