Strider in the morning

I never really warmed up to Striders. I don't know what it is, I think it is the fact that they don't have a liner. However, I really like this one. The CF scale really sets it off for me. I won't comment on the politics, I understand why many are against the company, but the knife looks great!

I wish they had a model above the SMF that offered a 3.5" cutting edge. So much handle, so little blade. Other than that gripe I think they're great.

Awesome SMF! Great pics, I wish they offered carbon fiber more often ( cough, 3/4 grind tanto SnG, cough):D

Thanks for the post, great way to start the day:thumbup:

Congrats! I took delivery of this exact same knife last Wed too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cheers!

No need to go into Striderette mode right off the bat. Its annoying - stop it.

What you think of me is of no importance what so ever. Besides, you deduce an awful lot from me saying, there are many fine knives in the World.

The OP made a broad sweeping statement which sort of ignores the scores of fine knives out there - to say a Strider tops Daniele Serrano's knives for example (and many many other high quality knives) is rather far fetched.

Your comparison level are Spyderco and CRKT knives - If I should make a statement like yours, Id say it it sad, that this is the limits of your 'knife horizon.'

As it happens , Im a huge fan of Spyderco knives and CRKT knives (Id happily buy Spyderco knives all day long if possible) - there are just many other fine knives out there.

Take a look a Serranos knives, Guichard and many many others.

None if that changes my opinion nor validates your opinion. You are no more an authority on the subject than myself or anyone else that has commented. You really are making apples to oranges comparisons here yet you expect people to take you serious. Your weak attempt to troll my thread is not welcome nor appreciated.

Not a great pic like yours- but I want to play too.. ;)

I'm about 1.5 weeks into SnG ownership and am really enjoying the knife. Think the weight, handle and size combine to form some X factor I can't describe. My 1st time spending money like this and I'm generally very pleased. Cutting up fruit and veggies will bum me a out a bit though...but probably not the function of this design... ;) :D

Sucker looks better with use I think too.

Love it. Rocking my old school Strider SmFs also - may have to keep my eyes open for a new one.

Saw the nautical brass custom models SmF that Dwyer put out - boy was I tempted but the price was salty.

Wouldn't you know all 3 customs went in a few days!!!

I love my SnG as well. It's my sharpest knife, blade steel CPM-154 and it's the first knife I've gotten to whittle hair. :)

Now of course there are some fine knives out there, no argument, in fact I'd say plenty of knives are finer overall than Striders. But for EDC Strider is my choice. Sure, there are plenty of GREAT EDC blades in that range, but Striders are built great and feel great in my hand - plus I can pry with the knife in a worst case scenario and it's covered. CRK won't do that, Hinderer won't do that, Curtiss won't do that, Begg won't do that, and I could go on and on. As far as folding knives for hard use go, I like the design and I like how much the guys at SKI stand behind their products. Great blade.

Well said. No one matches their warranty that's for sure.

I have an "old" SnG, but have downsized to SJ75. :oSlowed down a bit. The 75 has the same cutting edge length as the SnG. Nice knife, ugly, but nice.

Strider polarized me at one point, but once I purchased a SnG I understood what the hype was over on the green forum. In my opinion, there aren't many knives that top the SnG for an EDC. The Horseman is awfully close however.

Could someone point me in the direction of some sponsored Strider dealers?
