Strider in the morning

Great looking Strider and I love the carbon fiber!

There's nothing wrong with older Strider's but they really "seemed" to have picked up their game around the same time that they went to their newer lock geometry. I bought a SW SMF about a year ago with CPM-154 and I'm able to get that thing extremely sharp on a Sharpmaker (finishing up on the Ultra fine rods and then stropping). The good thing (or bad..depending on your preference) about the stonewash finish is that you can use the hell out of it and it seldom shows any wear.

Use it hard and in good health!

Never owned a Strider myself. I came close to pulling the trigger on an sj75 multiple times but something else kept popping up.

As the type of blades I'm into now don't fit the strider bill I don't see myself ever owning one...

But I guess never say never.

What type of blades are you into now?

I am a huge fan of the SMF myself. Outstanding blade. While my tastes lay more towards the flamed Ti & digicam blade, that stonewash on stonewash combo makes for a super clean look, great blade dude! I wanna see some scratches on it though!

I'm just turned off by any tank/military/bombproof look and varying colors of earth-tone G10.

That, and I don't care framelocks with G10 non-lock sides. Just no my cup 'o tea, I suppose.

I realize the OP's is CF but the majority of Striders are not. Even still, just not feeling it.

I'm a big fan of striders......I find them to be great blades....congrats on yours she's a beauty!!

It really is a great design. The cc really carries well. I don't even notice it's in my pocket. It's a really well thought out functional knife that carries better than all other larger folders out there. This smf is also hella smooth opening almost as if it was on bearings.

Eek, it's the elusive Strider which actually gets used! :D

And the also elusive Umnumzaan in use:

(hey, those spears ain't gonna make themselves ;))

Bump this up since there is so much strider love going around here lately.

In all fairness, the OP did ask for what happened in the other thread. Some people have strong opinions and when you leave the door open by asking for all opinions good and bad .....

After holding a DDC SnG with CF it made me want one really bad. Eventually got this regular CC.

If they make a production run of CF SnG's I may have to trade it in.
