Strider is like a Kalashnikov sebenza like an AR series

A Strider is Like a Sebenza because it is durable, well made, can be had with Ti, s30v and a framelock, is made in the USA, has a great warranty, etc., etc., etc. and......... I own and enjoy them both:D.

If to compare some folder to Kalashnikov it would be Buck 110. Inexpensive, super reliable, millions made for last 50 years.

Thanks, Vassili.

I'd agree with that. (Yer avatar cat just looked at me with one eye. Creeped me out, man.)

thx - cpr

Which knife would be the Miller Light of knives? Which knife would be Budweiser? Ford/Chevy? Letterman/Leno? Remington/Winchester?

question I don't own either, but isn't the sebenza a full titanium handle and striders are half titanium and one side is G10 or some composite material? If this is the case the point seems kinda moot to me as Titanium in my opinion is better than G10, plastic or some composite material any day of the week. Especially from a hard use stand point, titanium is some of the toughest stuff. With that line of thinking I have to assume that from a hard use standpoint the Sebenza is superior, its made with better materials. If I am wrong in this and G10 is tougher than 6a14v then let me know. If not then why the back and fourth? Sebenza made from higher quality materials compared to strider, problem solved.

both have s30v blades, and ti. the sng/smf have one g10 scale, one ti. if you can break a g10 scale let me know, its very tough stuff.

A strider is when some poor SOB lands on your park place with hotels and a sebenza is a straight flush.

Dave, your whole post was funny, but this line had me on the floor!

I actually plan on using this in everyday conversation, if you don't mind :D

Kizlyar knives are the Kalashnikov of knives...

Even Putin think's so...

If the G10 is tough then why doesn't anyone make the lock side of the handle out of it, as opposed to Ti? Not trying to be jack leg but a legitmate question if the G10 is so good for a handle then why not make the whole handle out of it? I always thought they used G10 on one side to lower the cost as the Ti is more expensive.

Just asking a question not trying to get bashed just asking something based on common observation, it would seem to me if it is so tough then it could be used for the lock side, then why doesn't anyone do it? Could it be because perhaps the G10 doesn't have enough rigidty or perhaps it does not pocess enough wear resitance so teh point at the end of the lock that came into contact with the steel would wear very quickly, in any case it would seem that this renders G10 to be inferior to Titanium, which gets back to my point why don't they make the entire handle out of it, if it is better than Ti? I see plenty of knives with all Ti handles and many with one side Ti and one G10, but I don't seen any that do not have liners with solid G10 handles.

g10 has very high tensile strength, but will not wear well against a steel blade.

i don't know how much it saves in production costs, perhaps it saves a lot. it is lighter, and im sure its easier to shape.

point was, other than the g10 slab, they both have the same materials.

I have seen several pics of Strider knives with both slabs made of Ti (MSC RC's and XL's from what I remember). They will cost you a bit more than a Sebenza though;).

Not the place for it, from any perspective. This is the General Knife Discussion, Not the Soldier of Fortune Drink and Pistol Club. If you want to dis Mick, go to his forum and do it, or post in the Good, the Bad, the Ugly.

A smart remark is one thing, that's as much a part of the dead horse as the whole topic -- which in this thread is being taken for a bit of comic relief -- but please DO NOT launch any more tirades into public morality in this subforum.

+1 Mr. Benyamin. I usually don't post here as I tend to read and learn instead. Let's get along and have fun here. I come here to learn from people, I certainly don't want to get involved with crap that has come and gone.
I appreciate the honesty and integrity you show sir.

Rick

A Strider is like a BLU-82/B (daisy cutter)- Brute Strength
and
A Sebenza is like a Tomahawk Cruise Missile- Surgical Precision

;)

Sebenza is Dream Theater, Strider is Cannibal Corpse. Sebenza suits well with an Armani suit, Strider suits better with an ancient Mongolian war outfit.
