Haven’t had a Strider in Many Years, probably at least 10. They used to be everywhere. Now I see them sold out on dealer sites and virtually everywhere else and prices are UP there. What happened....? Do they still make the normal SNG and SMF’s like the days of old....???

They are now sold under the M. Strider name. The runs are not as large as before, but they do still make a production SnG and SMF. A few dealers get the runs plus they sell on their website. You can sign up for the newsletter on the site.

That’s cool. All my old ones were Strider. I have seen several that said M. Strider as you stated. Explains a lot. Guess I have been sticking too much to my CRK roots and let some of the other major knife news slip by me.... lol.

All is not lost, they come up on the exchange all the time. Don’t really know what the mark up is on the secondary market is, but they do sell here.

Putting aside the extremely poor character of the man himself I never understood the allure of the knives themselves. For what they cost it seems they had a lot of issues and didn't cut very well.

Just another in a long line of knife companies making tacticool looking knives to sell to people with wild imaginations who fantasize about "hard use". No different than truck commercials showing them slinging mud around or bouncing around like they're driven by Charles Bronson on a watermelon farm, when all they use them for is driving to their 9-5 office job and getting groceries.

I like the knives and the design, but can't deny that this statement is pretty valid

Strider sucks. Built on lies.

Im even more pissed because I like the design but my values prevent me from buying them anymore.

Then again the lock up always sucked :)

I am going to have to agree with Matt here. I love the strider design. Feels great in the hand. The sng is by far one of the knives I loved the most. However......I have had so many issues with lockup in every strider I have owned. The last one that I purchased was an sng in cts40cp. it developed lock rock after a few days of use. Mailed it back to the dealer and they sent a replacement which I sold soon after. I still love the designs of the sng and smf, but cannot purchase another one as I do not trust the lock.
