Strider let down

How in ANY way does you post help the situation ?? Or Give insight into Strider as a company ?? Reading your post always turn into telling members how to purchase, or how to think. Clearly the OP had very real issues, Issues that the seller, Not The MFG. (strider) chose to fix. Strider still made a poorly made product. And for that reason Strider is 100% wrong. Why should members buy a product that we KNOW is not well made, based on the FACTS of this thread. Just to give Strider a fair shake ?? So we reward a company who clearly produces poorly built products. I suggest the reason these topics come up is Strider's lack of Quality control and the fuel they provide for the fire. No one is picking on Strider, they provide enough fault of their own. Several members suggested that it's acceptable with Strider to have issues, WHAT ?? It's not acceptable with any product, certainly one, who claims to be above the mark of excellence. The OP showed the photos, Strider"s error and you want us to buy more ? Really ? Also as with this case, Strider will never offer to compensate the OP beyond what the store did. And they OWE him, Gas money, wasted time, etc. You will not see Strider here or in private offer a Tee Shirt, a Hat or a discount. And in the end that is arrogance, and that is not worth rewarding.

And that is the problem with threads like this. Some of it is true, a lot of it just the usual Strider hate you will find in any thread similar to this one.

My suggestion would be to keep an open mind. This particular thread was about an issue with a knife, not unlike issues that can happen with any knife, custom or production. Someone made a mistake and that happens with anything you buy. Nothing is always perfect.

(This is where someone will say Strider has more issues than normal, followed by someone saying they have less issues....)

The point is that this thread will invite a lot of people who have had issues with their Striders to join in, and rightfully so, however if the topic had been 'I Just picked up an SnG and I love it' I can assure you the majority of the comments would be different.

I suggest that you do a lot more research, talk to a lot more owners, and try to get one in your hand to use before you dismiss Strider completely.

I have NEVER owned anything that I would not put in the dirt. Period. If you are comparing knives based on trade values and resale, perhaps other sites would suit you better. But to say a Strider is better suited for under the truck, because you are concerned of possible mental value loss, well I was taken back by a former retired Marine. With a lot of respect I never would have expected that remark from guys who are known to be tough, rough and ready. Sadly I have never been offered the time to change my clothes, knife , shoes, etc. when the mess hit the fan. The marks on a mans knife speak largely as to how he chooses to live. Tattoos and scars are different things, Sir.. How sad to see, Brand new, no marks or wear on a 1500's War Axe, for sell New in Crate, BF exchange...

Yes, both knives can take it of course. In (my) experience however, a scratched/used Sebenza loses much of its trade/sale allure in comparison with a Strider. Again, my experience. Regular production Striders don't have Micarta, fancy wood, etc.. like many of the very pretty Sebs. I have only had 21s and classics because I like it simple. My last trade was very tense as the recipient used calipers on the Sebenza blade and summized it may have gone to the spa and lost some belly. Different knives no doubt.

But like in your case you knew the potental problems that can come up with Striders yet you still bought another one anyways. And anyone on bladeforums that does 5 min of searching will inevitably find a Strider thread just like this so if the buyer decides to buy a Strider than its on him.
People go and buy a Strider and a week later come on the forums saying how they are so disappointed in the little lock rock that has developed. Well maybe Striders are just not for you. So move on.

So move on. - I don't even need to respond to this. You do not deserve lock rock sir, so take your other knife that doesn't have it and move on. These faults don't hinder the knife from what it was intended so just deal with the problems and if you can't then this knife is not for you. Really?

If there is any useful information in this thread, it may have been covered already, otherwise we are finished here.
