I have a knife that needs service...

Website is down (been down awhile)

Voicemail box is full. No one answering the phone.

Anyone heard from these guys lately?

I've got a new PT with a very slight bit of blade play, and due to the new pivot I can't service it myself.

This is my first Strider. Anyone got any recommendations?

My PT developed slight side to side play during break in. I happened to have a tamper proof screw bit, 2-prong that fit perfectly and it allowed me to adjust the pivot myself. I picked up a set of tamper screw bits at a local hardware store for less than ten bucks...another alternative would be Sears hardware for the bit. I also heard that snap ring or circlip pliers will do the trick. You'll just need to have the knife with you to get the correct bit/plier size.

freq, you're basically in for a lot of ... stuff :)
It will cost you, time, frustration and probably money is my guess
I've read a lot of bad stuff, and not just from one or two people, but from about half the internet ;)

good question A.M.
Basically I think the service must be very very bad...
wtf? They don't have their website online for about 2 months...
They just don't care about customers getting in contact with them.
their site was cheap anyway... my nephew could make it and get it online in a week.

as I said, it has every appearance they just don't care
I don't hold a high opinion of them after all the different threads on different forums I've read.
I like my sng though...

I can understand your frustration. I own 3 and have sent one back for lock adjustment and a edge touch up. All went well. Just send it in, do NOT use the postal service though, they try to leave them on Sat. when they are closed and it seems some will then sit at the P.O. for weeks.... Fed Ex. it.

Hey they are a small shop that can't make the knives fast enough to fill orders so I guess web sites and such take a back seat . Is that how'd I do things, not sure, but then you can just send it in without a web site. Like us old folks did before this internet thing.

Good Luck !

General Knife Discussion is for talking about knives.
FEEDBACK is for talking about dealers.
Please post in the correct forum.

For those having problems with Strider customer service, copy and keep DaveReb's post #4 here. Strider is just different, not necessarily difficult to deal with.

Thank you, Dave! :)

Thanks for moving that Esav, didn't realize that wasn't general forum topic.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

I've had 4 Striders that all were good knives. An AR, SnG, SMF and SnG in that order. Some no doubt some were better than others.

I was always leary of using them how they are supposedly able to be used because of the fear I wouldn't be able to get help if I ever needed it. That is why I'm now kind of an Emerson/Benchmade/ZT kinda guy.
