Strider prices going up?

I just checked the site (KA) that I bought two SW CPM-154 SMF's from and now have them priced at $495. I thought I paid $450 each for them, but maybe it was $475...I'm not positive.

Bringing up really old shenanigans is pitiful. I can't believe that there are people who love Quartermaster and still rip on Mick... :grumpy:

I don't see why the SMF's or SnG's would go up, they are already at a premium, unless material cost went up.

I'm far from a Strider fan but let's face reality. The price of nearly everything is going up. I'm particularly aware of this phenomenon being retired on a fixed income.

You ain't lyin!

It's funny though, I spend thousands throughout the year, but I never can save $3-400 for a knife I want.

I hear ya brother! Everyone spends their money differently. I rarely tell the truth to people on the street how much my knives really cost because they will shit. And they really shouldn't drop a turd, because it is just like you say. You spend thousands on your thing and I do on my thing.

It's all good whatever we all do. But this site doesn't help me much either.. Just make me want to spend more on expensive blades!

Yup! There was a point in time, on this forum, where I was buying up everything I wanted to try out. I ended up realizing that I really like fixed blades more than folders, and then I ordered some customs. That's when it went downhill :D

Just about every company has a price increase every year (Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw.....etc.). This is Strider's first price increase in over 5 years. I'm not sure why this is ruffling so many feathers.

Note to self.... eliminate both Microtech and Strider from possible buy consideration list. Actually I agree with Murdamook. Shouldn't make any difference what so ever if you are or were willing to spend that kind of money on a knife. I didn't visit either of their booths at Blade.

Maybe they invested in a machine that can produce g10 handle scales that align with the tang. And maybe started using torx screws that aren't soft as cheese.

Those two criticisms aside, my one strider is one of my favorite blades.

The facts? What facts lead to a world of math where 1+1 is not 2?

I agree, some of us have long memories when it comes to very particular issues.

On topic though, the way everything in is getting more expensive Im surprised it didnt come sooner.

Because of this thread, I was one click away from buying a brand new Strider SnG CC, but thought about some upcoming bills and decided not too :(
