Strider PT, Thoughts and Comparisons

My PT-CC is one of my most carried knives. It's the perfect size for what I like to term "urban EDC" (I live in NYC), has excellent ergos and terrific build quality (solid lockup, perfectly centered blade...). The only other knife that gives it a run for the money during the work week is my small Sebenza Insingo w/micarta inlays.

Regards,
Adam

Great thread, ohioan!

And I like this comment you made, craniotes.

I recently put both my PT's (a CC and a Lego) up for sale. But the more I spoke of its features, the more I had second thoughts of selling them. I hardly ever carry them but after reading this maybe I'll begin actually using them. Just seems like an impractical blade shape for what I use knives for. I have a couple Sebenza's that fit the role of slicing things and a few beastly Grayman Dua's for anything else I'd want to use a knife for. So I thought I could let them go. Still might have to in order to pay for upcoming car repairs...

I would love to help you raise the money to fix your car.

Agreed. The PT CC is a great urban EDC—carries perfectly clipless in the city.

I haven't had the pleasure of owning a PT, but I've had the SNG and SMF and while the later two seem to have a lot of love/hate the PT you almost never hear any real complaints on and they sell super fast on the for sale boards, that's always a good indication that it's a all around well liked model.

I have owned perhaps six or seven. They are VERY well made, but my hand is a bit too large for this knife.
However, I do highly recommend it for EDC.

Interesting comparison to the Dragonfly, I didn't realize the Strider was that small. I don't know, I like the basic, utilitarian looks of the Strider but given other options, like the Dragonfly, I just can't get myself into it. Also, buying a knife from an unequivocally 'good guy' in the knife world compared to from one who was a very colorful (or shall I say fanciful?) background is a factor to consider.

With you on the who you buy from thing. Kinda bothers me a little also. It matter I think who you buy from. But we all have a past and thank The Lord mine is forgiven so I guess that means I need to do the same.
