Strider PT, Thoughts and Comparisons

I mostly lurk but post now and then.

That being said, I've been looking for a PT for awhile now and always seem to miss them on the exchange.

The Black one in this thread makes me envious. Love It.

It's for sale. What's your email??

I ended up needing money, and sold both of my striders. I really miss them both. [PT and a SMF CC] pinching pennies until I can afford another.

that is literally the only thing stopping me from picking one of these up

Pick up a PT CC then! No clip on it, and it is small enough I just let mine chill in the bottom of my pocket with my phone. I've never had an issue pulling it out or falling out unexpectedly.

Last Friday I managed to snag one of the few Mick Strider Custom Knives (MSCK) Performance Series PT (Stealth) folders directly from MSCK! It came in late yesterday.

Simply, it's FANTASTIC! Well centered, sharp blade, very smooth, lock up at 30% and great fit & finish. It's a great EDC! Great choil allows full grip for such a small folder.

Actual blade length is 2.9” (2.3" cutting edge) not 3.25” per MSCK website so great for Los Angeles! Blade thickness is 0.125” and weighs 2.65 ounces!

I've included standalone pictures as well as next to Small Sebenza 21 and 3" Hinderer XM-18.

By the way, XM-18 weighs 3.43 ounces and Sebenza 2.97 ounces. So, it's even lighter than them.

Highly recommended.

Man, that is about the sexiest knife I've ever seen. Wow!

This. I took the clip off my lego and carried it in my pocket. I don't like to clip small knives in my pocket.

Certainly not wishing to pee on anyone's BBQ, as I am a fan of the PT's as well, and the MSC version is dang nice. But I just wanted to mention that for some with a tighter budget, it may be worth looking at the Boker Thorn. Collaboration with Jim Burke, German made, Ti scales with stand offs, and CPM154 blade steel. I've found it to be a worth competitor. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Certainly not trying to diss the PT by any means.

Funny, but with knives available in different sizes, I usually prefer the small version. For some reason, with my Striders I prefer my SNG to other 2.
