Mine showed up today...very nice indeed. Great centering and lockup. There is no way for this not to sound dumb, but...I had not envisioned the PT as being so small!

Mine showed up today too. Fit and finish is great, on par with my best knives. Lock up is perfect, so is blade centering.
But unfortunately due to the small size, and the stiffness, I can't open it one handed. Going to have to return it. It's too bad, I like the way the knife looks and feels quite a bit.

You just need to go through the infamous and painful strider breakin period !!! In the end your thumb will be like leather and your knife will be smooth as glass !!!! I wouldn't rush into returning it !!!
It's just too darn small. The tension once you get past the break point is similar to my sebenza, albeit not as smooth. But its just too darn tiny, its like a toy. A lovely lovely toy that I wish I could keep. I almost have trouble with opening my small sebenza, due to the size. But this thing is just impossible.

Mine is "firm" also, but I was expecting that - I went through that with an SnG that developed into a very smooth knife. Frankly, I sort of appreciate the stiffer detent and action. I have dropped knives, and more often than not, they open. That is not a great result. The SnG doesn't, and this PT won't, either.
At the end of the day, though, if it doesn't work, send it back for sure. As I mentioned in another thread, don't replace it with a Mnandi. I have one, and it's a wonderful knife, but even compared to the PT, it's very, very small...not much to grip while opening. The PT almost makes a small Seb or a Mini-Grip look big!

freq - You might have to just do even more research than you think you did for this one. The PT is super tiny, then you have the additional choil to take away from blade length. I like large folders myself 3.5>. You might consider just getting a custom folder made. Something you can help design, pick the steel, handle material, etc. You've had some really nice knives, most people would love to own and carry, like the WH EDCs. It might be that only a custom can satiate that urge to find the perfect folder. Then again, you might just be overthinking it a tad.
So Ive had a few days to think about the PT. I still havent carried it. I can open it now, but the pivot is still very firm.
I love the knife, I think it just might be a bit too dinky.
Its hard to tell from pics, but is the SNG huge in comparison? Are its ergonomics as good?

looks like its not too much bigger? About the size of a small sebenza? Smaller than a full sized griptilian?
