So amped!!! I just pulled the trigger on my first Strider It's a Lego coyote brown with flamed titanium and blade!

I've been out of the knife hobby for a while because I didn't realize how expensive children were when my daughter was born almost 5 years ago lol! I was always into Chris Reeve knives before (and still am) but the rough tough Strider reputation has me very interested!

I'd love to hear from everyone now what a great decision I've made LOL as I'm sure the wife won't be thrilled!

Have not owned a Strider so take it for what it is worth "you made and excellent decision". Lol, I really do want one.

Oh you'll like it. It goes well with Chili and then you can stab the can while thumping your chest. :D

My second SNG comes tomorrow, a CC in black with stonewashed ti. Striders just have a thing about them, it's like emersons. Once you get it in your hand you wont ever forget it

Please don't say that! The couch hurts may back! :)

Lol!

Strider is one of those things you need to evaluate for yourself, don't make the mistake of evaluating them based on the internet bs purported by people who've never owned and used one.

This ^^^^^

I'm curious to see what I can manage to do it in the next 50 years I plan to be alive! :)

Boy, if I could do that, I'd be in the SERIOUS record books.
The Sng is nice; you'll like it.

BTW, it looks like I gotta post my double gunner-grips SMF to have this thread complete. :)

Here it is:
So, in total, you get to see all three Strider scale finishes: Concealed Carry (smooth), Lego finish, and my Double Gunner Grips. Each scale finish has its own special usefulness, but all are fun to hold, and a rough-as-cob knife for serious work.

So what's the BS that's going around. I'm guessing it's a perfect knife vs something that's tough as nails but not "perfect"?

You'll love them all ! I was in the same boat wanting to try Strider knives a few months ago. I bought a Tanto Sng with a micro-melt PD1 blade and immediately wanted another one. Then I found a very nice PT model with a toxic green scale that I could not pass up. The PT fits great in my hand for it's small size and cuts like a champ. Then I found an NSN Smf ! There are still a few more out there that I am looking for but so far, I have been more than pleased with all three of them and have had no issues at all. I plan on purchasing more! Good luck with the Sng and I hope it serves you well !

Those folks are basing their evaluation on the ownership of the company and NOT the product. It has to do with the military "experience" or "claimed experience" and there is controversy there.
I like the product...the knife models, the various special blade-steels, the GREAT Customer Service (I've used it). The Strider SMF(larger brother of the Sng) was designed by Strider in collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps, and was designated the Official Folding Knife of Det One of the Marine Corps in 2003.
Great knives; great company. MY opinion, and I've owned perhaps fifteen or so of the various Strider folders.
Just so you know...I'm not a fan-boy, just a guy who appreciates a good folder.
