Strider Sng vs. PT

Wow... you have a gorgeous collection. I will probably end up getting both the sebie and strider, the main thing is which should i get first

honestly, i think you will find the sebbie far more pocket friendly and useable.

i like my sng, but the size limits its use.

it doesn't scare as many people, either. i know, but it should be said.

large or small? i say get the large. i have med hands, and always found the small to be just a little too small.

btw, i have both the sng and lge sebbie. let me know if you'd like a pic.

I got my first knife when i was 5 and not one has left my possession since it came into it... now i have about 42 knives
some are collectable but their are too many knives that never leave the house

Do you mind throwing a few pics up there? i have an idea how the sng compares in size to the sm seb but not the large

No way i would argue with more pics!
how are the ergonomics on the seb compared to the strider?

Two completely different handles, more so than might be obvious from pics.

The SnG, in my hand anyway, feels ultra solid. I can't imagine ever losing the grip on that thing, even if my hand was covered in oil or blood or whatever.

The Seb does not have such a solid feel to the grip, however it is more suited to delicate tasks, such as fruit peeling.

If I had to drive the knife through a car door, I'd choose the SnG. If I wanted to do some fine cutting tasks I'd go for the Seb.

That's my experience anyway.

(No, I haven't attacked any car doors lately.) :)

i also like the feel of the sng better, sits very well in the palm. also the choil allows you to choke up.

the sebbie is also great, but like gaj, i dont feel my grip is as solid.

Thanks for the pics... very nice knives, really like your cqc-7
is your orange knife a hinderer?
I think it is going to boil down to which knife i might be able to find a deal for... funny how this started as a debate between striders but shifted to the classic seb vs strider struggle... its the battle of the ages

i saw that knife about a month and a half ago on the web and really thought it was nice... usually not big on blaze orange but it looks killer on that knife
have you ever had a strider pt or smf

ive handled both, and have an smf on the way.

i found the pt to be a "large" small knife. thick and wide, but short blade.

i haven't handled a cc, though. i imagine it is similar to the sng cc, in that is is significantly more pocket friendly than the reg. but still, the blade is awfully short, especially with the choil.

yeah, the cutting length is only like 2.25
lotta money for that little of a cutting edge, might as well drop the extra $$$ and get a seb or sng
smf just seems huge to me... the biggest thing i carry is a sog trident tanto... sure it is a great knife though, if i was less stingy i would probly have one already

the smf is definitely big. but ive been so happy with my sng that i finally broke down. it will probably be used mainly at the range or at work.

wanna see a huge knife? check out a strider ar or gb. absolutely ridiculous big.

yeah... ive seen em i just can't even imagine trying to carry a knife that big for edc
im kinda reticent about getting a large sebbie cuz im not used to edc'ing knives with a blade longer than 3.5

The Strider RC is also funny big. I knew it was going to be big and heavy but when I had in my hand it was funny.

I carried it maybe 5 times then sold it.

worry not, tip to scale the large blade is under 3.5"

i had the same experience with an rcc.

yeah, that's why im not even going to try the zt's i wear my pants so that they actually fit me so they would not be comfortable in my pocket

I liked the PT as an EDC, as a matter of fact it was my favorite EDC, Though I never handled an SNG:( I found the PT has better grip ergo's than my small Sebe. Sure it doesn't have the blade length as a small Sebe, but for my needs, opening boxes, cutting tapes and stripping wires the PT worked great. My dislikes were the fairly thick grind and pocket clip. However it is rock solid and carries great in my watch pocket. I don't have my PT anymore, but would have recently bought a PT CC, instead of my Burke Pro Rockstar, if any dealer had one available...

Look at the CC SnG, It carries small. I have a DDC SnG CC abd it carries so well you don't even know it's there. From a SD standpoint, the PT though adequate is a tad small and does no flick open as readily as a SnG.

Matador-

I havent handled a PT (have one on order) but I have two sngs and one smf. The SMF is a little too big for edc IMHO. The nightmare grind on this SMF is wicked. The SNG is just right, but I still want to try the PT. I have a small sebenza I use when Im wearing a suit. As said before, It is a sweet cutter but by no means does it feel as secure in your hands as a SNG. My SNG is my EDC and Im really happy with it. I think you will be too.
