If you choose to pry with a knife, keep in mind that hardened steel fails "explosivly." Explosive does not here mean that it blows up like TNT or something. But what it does mean is that it fails suddenly and can essentially shatter and those shards can be propelled under some considerable force. Certainly wear eye protection when doing this.
