STRIDER vs BUSSE

I've never seen a Busse knife, except on the Busse website, and have nothing against them whatsoever. However, I do own 4 fixed blade Strider knives with the cord wrapped handles (which I love) and you are definitely not going to break one of their blades. :D

Busse = easily one of the best production fixed blade ever.

Strider = tacticlol useless 90% of the time... what people can do with 0.25" thick sabre grind cord wrap tanto.

Busse makes a great knife.

strider, well, you couldn't give me one for a multitude of reasons.

Yes, nine years. No need to read the whole thread person who clicks on it, I'll sum this up. Busses Rock!:D

Time for the big dirt nap on this thread.....

Technically, the summation is:

"The brand I like rules! The brand you like sucks."

No point closing it now...somebody will just open a similar thread up again soon enough anyway. :D

Did I mention I love this

I'm a wintergreen guy myself, i'd take a busse or a stick of Wrigley's gum before anything strider.
Oh forget that. I love Wrigley's. Busse as a chewing gum? Not so much...

All I know is that I bought my first Busse not long ago and it is the most solid fixed blade I've ever had. It feels like it's not only built like a tank, but that you could punch a hole in a tank with it!

With Crunch Berries!

The smashing I put this one through, it must have crunch berries to still be holding on.

Have a few Striders in my tool-kit and no, I am not going to sell them. I have never broken one either. Thought about gifting one of them to a close friend for Christmas, but got him a ZT 0350BW in S30V. If Busse had made that illusive folder, you can bet your sweet marbles I'd have a few of them.

Point is, the ZT has been a GREAT folder for me, so much so that I recommend it to others for a hard-use (a bit on the heavy side) do-everything folder. I carry the folder because it can be neatly hidden in the pocket. Sure, I'd rather have my favored Basic 9 on my hip, but that just isn't practical or feasible.

As a collector, I like them all. Honorable mention goes to my Dumpster Mutt in SR77. Loaned it out three years ago to a guide in Manitoba. He is now retiring. Got the knife returned in the mail last week and it still looks good, used like crazy, but in fine shape. The guide had used the knife for every kind of activity in the bush including splitting hardwood with a baton. I wonder if one of my Striders would have held up that well? I guess I'll never know the answer to that hypothetical query.

This Busse versus ... stuff is going to get old fast. Each thread will barely differ from the others. You can already find Busse vs. everything in the Busse forum, basically.

But I still want to see Mr.T. vs Busse. :D

Shouldn't it be Busse versus Chuck Norris?

Doesn't everyone know what happened when Chuck Norris decided to play paper , rocks, and scissors?
He chose scissors.

I'd love to see pictures of that knife. Post some please! This necro thread may not be a total waste after all. If it gets closed go over to the Busse subforum, tell the story, and post some pics. It would be much appreciated.

Edit: forget posting here. go to the BFC subforum for busse above and post some pics and story over there.
